Spike's Bitches 37: You take the killing for granted.
[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.
Suzi, that's great news for your mom! Hope things go smoothly.
This is so so trivial, but I am pissed at my Tivo. I get to watch TV mostly on the weekends and it deleted Bones, House, and Top Chef! It saved Grey's Anatomy but I'm over that show anyway.
Ok - who says animals aren't empathetic?
I left for work, DH left for work, and K-Bug left for school. This is normal morning stuff. Well, as soon my mom left for the hospital, the dog threw up. Dear CJ gets the honors of cleaning up that mess. Poor child.
I think butterflies are entirely understandable, Suzi.
Bad TiVo, no sticker.
You've had some experience of reiki, then, vw? Huh. A couple of folks I know have got quite into it, and found it has helped them a lot, and indeed have apparently had several quite spooky experiences... and this evening over frozen margeritas I seem to have committed myself to going along on a 2-day course this weekend. Which I think I'm good with - not like I had anything else planned, and I've been quite curious about it, although I may just spend the whole time sitting there thinking "...but this is bollocks, mate." But I think I'd rather go along and find out if that's what I think, as I've been intrigued for quite a while now. Hmm.
Fay, I think that energy work such as reiki *does* have real effects; like most non-Western therapies, it doesn't seem to have *dramatic* effects, so it tends to get derided.
I've had people do reiki on me (which surprises some people...but, hell, sometimes you'll get desperate enough to try anything!). I do find it calming and helps with muscle tension, etc. That was the main thing we were concentrating on when I had it done. I say go for it.
Kristin or Drew -
Could either of you please let Joe know to check either of his email accounts. He can check in for his flight and print his boarding passes after 8:30am PST.
Thanks.
My sister has done the reiki thing (gotten her hands switched on or whatever so she can do it , as well as having it done on her) and finds it useful. Her mileage and your mileage, of course, not necessarily the same.
Enormous amounts of kidney~ma for Suzi's mom!
eta: and lots of healthg~ma for tiggy's dad!
I haven't taken reiki, but when I was working at the church, the spirituality group that was housed under the same roof offered it; it was pretty popular and I was intrigued. But since it was at work, and I wanted to leave the building when I was done with work, I never ended up taking classes.
MUCH, MUCH ~ma to Suzi's mom and to Suzi!
Am intrigued by Sparky's bid!
Also, ~ma for Cashmere's DH
ION, we now have a Wii and it is good. I am happy to report that is really all the excitement in the McWarnigle household at the moment. (knocks wood)
The sellers are signing on the dotted line... Whee! Here we go again into home inspection mode! Pics: [link]

I subscribe to the theory that Western therapies are great for trauma or disease and Eastern therapies are stronger with chronic systemic weirdness. Strange rashes, tension, pain, insomnia... time for the woo woo.
