Good Trouble and Righteous Fights
So I'm working away on my manuscript. A colonel is flattering his commanding officer a bit, talking about the utter success of their most recent action.
He called it "a glorious battle."
In my mind's eye, my characters instantly morphed from humans in the elegant officers' uniforms of 200 years ago, developing ridged foreheads and growing long, long hair. Their discreet glasses of claret disappeared, replaced with great goblets of blood wine. My colonel's concern that the general would give him a stern tongue-lashing upon learning he allowed an important enemy leader to slip through his fingers became shame and terror that his fearsome commander would declare him without honor and kill him where he stood.
So. Humans cannot fight glorious battles. The very phrase transforms them into Klingons.

Oh yes. I finished the Campaign and now I'm upping the difficulty level and going back around again.O dear god! I played two hours before I was tired (started at 10pm). I got as far as blowing the ops center. dunno how deep that is. I'm guessing not too far. I didn't die ONCE (ok, except for the time I was digging for ammo in the crashed transport, and slipped out and drown... but that doesn't count).
Have we mentioned Pete's, er, obsessive nature when it comes to video games?um. Ya think?! And, if I recall, works from home. So easily tempted to play all day. I can't complain, I had time to play a bit. If only I could lend some sleep to ND. I'm worried for him. I think when Halloween thing is up, he'll sleep for 3 days straight (except to feed the kitties when they nibble his nose).
