I just found out that a girl I went to high school with is a burlesque dancer. She lives in SF now and is hot and gorgeous. I just watched her tribute to Betsy Ross on You Tube.

Trust my rage
I just talked to a really cool woman in New Mexico who is going to help me find a doula and midwife! I'm just so energized and encouraged because for the first time in this pregnancy, I'm looking forward to having the baby and not dreading it!
I don't expect everyone to agree with me/share my ideas, but it is so refreshing to talk to someone who listens to what I'm saying about wanting a midwife/doula/as little interference as possible and agrees with me and encoourages me.
anyway, just wanted to share my good mood.

It was actually a good conversation; I was proud of myself for having remembered my cousin's birthday. And then she started talking about having booked tickets for next month.
She wants to come up for my shoulder surgery.
And then she wants to stay with me for a week.
Guys, I would rather have surgery every day than be cooped up in my apartment with my mom for an entire week.
I tried to tell her I would be fine and she would have nothing to do and she said not to worry about her and I could not find the most tactful way to express my true feelings about this horrible, horrible situation, and it finally went like this:
"I was going to sit around and relax."
"You will be relaxing! You will have nothing to do!"
"I can't relax with you around!"
"Why?"
"Because you criticize everything I do."
*nothing*
"I'll be all tense."
*nothing*

Fry bacon. Cut the brussels sprouts in half (especially if they are big) and sauté in the bacon fat, maybe adding a bit of chicken broth or water. As a finishing touch, when the Brussels sprouts have gotten soft, add a bit of heavy cream and, if you are of a mind to, some crumbled blue cheese (which both coat the sprouts thereby achieving yummy goodness).
