Congrats sj and tcg!!!
from before:
Lisah, if you want to really rebel, come out as a brussels sprout lover
I AM a brussel sprouts lover! mmm roasted with a little olive oil and salt and pepper. delicioso!
I actually sauté a little bacon, then remove it and add the brussel sprouts to the drippings. I brown the sprouts quickly, then deglaze with some lemon juice and a little stock, then cover and let them steam in the stock. I serve with the crunchy bacon bits and little lemon zest sprinkled on top for color.

Buffistas should feel kind of honored because most of our family doesn't even know yet. My mom knows of course, because of the diamond, but we are telling TCG's family in person when we see them. We're having dinner with his mother and stepfather on Friday and his father and stepmother on Tuesday, and we'll tell his brother when we see them on our visit to Charlotte.

Vortex will you marry me?
I suddenly want to Nilly the Day of Teacup Nomenclature.
I really am going to try to sleep now, but if someone would do this for me this week it would be the best engagement present ever. I really should have it marked somewhere, but I think it was on the old computer.
Vortex will you marry me?
heh. my brussel sprouts are awesome. Why? BACON. I usually add a little salt, but I wonder how they'd taste with bacon salt. I must try this.
Suddenly I am filled with remorse that we're doing the catering thing for Thanksgiving this year. I'll have to try your recipe for a less momentous occasion Vortex. And feed them to my brother- he's the other texas cabbage lover in my family.
YAY SJ & TEACUP GUY!!! WOOT!
'Scuse asscaps, but YAY!
