Much health~ma to Trudy's mother.
[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

-ma for Trudy's mom.
extra -ma for Susan's mom just 'cuz.
And a round of -ma for all my stressed out parents.
These are the same people who hear D's middle name and ask "...as in Beeblebrox?" (This being apparently the only possible response other than a blank stare.)
I agree with those before me, I would probably say that as well. And I would think that I was being cool, identifying as a kindred spirit, and that you would appreciate that I knew it, you know?
It's the asking it as a question that makes me raise an eyebrow. Because, really, what else could it be?
when you're at Applebee's you kinda hafta... go with it.
Nora, do you read Michael Ruhlman's blog? I think you'd get a kick out of this post.
[edit: And the follow-up, here..

Yep, that's him. Bourdain guest-posts on the blog sometimes too.
Heh. I always say "Ruehlman!" in my head a la Seinfeld's "Newman!"
Yay cranky food guy blog! Off to read!

I don't know, but do I know you need to make up something for it to be. And get all indignant that they don't know right off.
Jess - I see the question as a way to say "one of us" but they don't know how to just say "one of us".

~ma to all the ma's and da's out there. My mom is actually doing pretty good these days (knock wood). Still with the kidney failure, still with the good days and bad days....but compared to about a year ago, I don't feel that sense of "she isn't going to be around next year" that I had for a long time.
