Still with the kidney failure, still with the good days and bad days....but compared to about a year ago, I don't feel that sense of "she isn't going to be around next year" that I had for a long time.

Inspection and sofa~ma, Sparky. I think your dad being there will be a good thing, although hard on your nerves. You really don't want to buy the house and then find you have to do something major. For example, I wouldn't have thought to check what the inspector found: the stove hood was vented to the attic, not to the outside. Of course, he didn't figure out that they hadn't attached the washer to the sewer but had left it going to the old septic tank.
