There is a firre somewhere. breathing is no fun. I feel like going to bed,but actually - work is a better place for me because of the airconditioning. this seems stupid to me.
'Lies My Parents Told Me'
Spike's Bitches 37: You take the killing for granted.
[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.
Wishing you every good thing on your birthday and this year, erika, and especially wishing another year of writing and publication~ma for you. You've sent a lot of pieces out into the world this past year; may the number of editors wanting a taste of your spicy brains keep going on up, up, up!
I don't need to be murdered by a cat in Nebraska or anything.
But I know what to look out for now!
The sellers of the house we made an offer on have countered at 10K more than we'll pay, just as we expected. For some reason they wanted us to know that they would be losing money on this counter-offer. If they knew me, they'd know that wouldn't penetrate my little black heart.
We're countering with 5K more than we originally offered, and if they don't take that, we're back to looking!
I love it when people include info like that when negotiating. Um, you know, not my problem that you got caught in a bad market.
Happy birthday, erika!

amen.
Thanks, JZ, and I don't mean to be piggish, but tell some of them to bring their checkbooks.(I can't ask that of Victor and Corwood, being that they're bunkies and all, and one of 'em takes "cocksucker" as a term of affectionate endearment. Which is rarer than a rare thing, as I found out the hard way.) Thanks for that, as there is nothing like a calendar flip to make a woman feel that she has "fucked up her life flatter than hammered shit," But some stranger with deep(ish) pockets coming along and buying my work would be nice, yeah.

I suppose it must work on someone-not-me. Heck, it didn't even work on my DH and he's the softie.

Two immediate responses come to mind:
1. Not losing nearly as much money as you'll lose if you keep clinging to your ridiculous asking price and never sell it at all.
2. t Eliza Bennet's father, BBC version And yet, I remain unmoved. ::adjust glasses, smile politely, return to novel and glass of port:: t /EBF,BBCV
eta: And lord, yes, erika, editors WITH MONEY.
