No. And yes. It's always sudden.

Always Anti-fascist!

Thanks, JZ, and I don't mean to be piggish, but tell some of them to bring their checkbooks.(I can't ask that of Victor and Corwood, being that they're bunkies and all, and one of 'em takes "cocksucker" as a term of affectionate endearment. Which is rarer than a rare thing, as I found out the hard way.) Thanks for that, as there is nothing like a calendar flip to make a woman feel that she has "fucked up her life flatter than hammered shit," But some stranger with deep(ish) pockets coming along and buying my work would be nice, yeah.

I love it when people include info like that when negotiating.

I suppose it must work on someone-not-me. Heck, it didn't even work on my DH and he's the softie.

See? I gave everybody here an opportunity to tell me what a bad person I am and nobody did, because I fuckin' rule.

For some reason they wanted us to know that they would be losing money on this counter-offer.

Two immediate responses come to mind:

1. Not losing nearly as much money as you'll lose if you keep clinging to your ridiculous asking price and never sell it at all.

2. t Eliza Bennet's father, BBC version And yet, I remain unmoved. ::adjust glasses, smile politely, return to novel and glass of port:: t /EBF,BBCV

eta: And lord, yes, erika, editors WITH MONEY.

I suppose it must work on someone-not-me.

I'm sure it does. But I'd sleep soundly knowing that, if the reverse were true, they would not be mentioning it.

Also, Happy Birthday erika!

Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

But I'd sleep soundly knowing that, if the reverse were true, they would not be mentioning it.

"You know, we're gonna make quite a profit on this house, so it's only fair that we lower our asking price."

Nah. Don't think those words have ever been spoken....

That guy was awesome, JZ. Wasn't he on All Creatures Great and Small too? Yeah, much as I joke about it, I'm not really planning to hit the streets with testers.Although sometimes when things get tight I'm like "One word, Mom. Hydroponics."

Was he? I have no recollection, it's been so long. I did just recently stumble on one of the books and re-read it, and it was as good as I'd remembered -- possibly better (though it turns out that my memory was completely accurate as to just how much time that poor man spent with one arm up a cow's cootch). I wonder if the BBC series is Netflixable.

Aww, man. Cloture vote in the Senate failed, and those of us in D.C. won't be getting the vote...
