However, has anyone in the DC market heard the radio ad for McLean Bible Church? It's along the lines of "Christ said that the only way to heaven was through him. You're not going to get there by just doing good. So who are you going to choose? Christ, or one of those dead "saviors?"
I just got this note from a friend, about his two daughters, 14 and 12 respectively:
When Jenny gets sick, I can pop in her room, and she's usually in there reading something like Harry Potter. Stephie stayed home from school today, so I popped in to say goodbye. She was reading "Surviving Hitler."

This makes me laugh and laugh and laugh. Around here, McLean is known as the big psychiatric hospital. I find it very funny that there is a church named that. It's where all the crazy people go!

Sorry-ness to all with craptastic days. It's raining here, but I'm off on Fridays so I really can't complain. I was supposed to go to Greensboro (NC) to see a best friend's new baby, but they took a last minute beach invite. Hopefully this means my night will involve drinks and this girl I know...

We have XM. For a number of reasons, not least the poor quality programming of DC radio.

Why is today feel so long? I didn't get into work until 10:30, and we had an ice cream break at 1:30, so it seems like the day should fly by but instead the clock is stuck.
Home from the doc and my iron treatment has been postponed until I talk with my hematologist next week.
For now the diagnosis is vertigo. I have some meds to try and I'm not supposed to drive until I get used to the meds and the vertigo goes away. If the meds don't do it, I go back and get a neuro referral. Oh joy. Now to read up on vertigo...

Oh, ugh, Suzi. I'm sorry, you. JenK had really bad vertigo once. I remember that. It was awful.
I just got off a phone call that has me seething mad. I cannot believe the audacity of some people. You call yourself a Christian. You call yourself my friend. And then you act like neither. It's just all about you and YOUR needs.

First, thanks to everyone for the encouragement. I have a meeting with an attorney tomorrow so I hope that goes well. She was *realy* excited to talk to me, which made me feel positive. And I got some good suggestions/tips over in LJ.

The following conversation I offer without comment. (But background first - my SIL, about 24, had a major eating disorder and MIL and FIL spent probably around $15-$20 getting her treatment.)
Last night, FIL mentions my nieces who visited them over the summer. He refers to the 3 year-old as "Gordis" which I think could best be translated as "fatty". DH asked why he called her that and FIL said, "Well, you know she's sort of heavy."
Dude, she's THREE FUCKING YEARS OLD! (Sorry, guess I had to comment after all.)
