It totally helps, ChiKat. And is somethign I should totally be doing myself, this afternoon.

Spike's Bitches 37: You take the killing for granted.
[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.
Moving is good incentive for closet and drawer cleaning. Sometimes, there comes a time that it needs to be done even if you're not moving--like when you've been in your house 21 years and you're running out of space to store the books, CDs, and many other things you accumulate. I'm also cleaning and rearranging bookshelves and deciding which books to store and keep and which books to give away. Then I have to actually get them out of the house.
I'm also being forced to empty all knick-knacks and breakables from my living room and dining room in preparation for floor replacement. I'm finding all sorts of things that I thought had been missing for years.
ChiKat, it does really help, especially if you are ruthless in what you decide to get rid of.
I'm done with my dresser and my bedroom closet. Yay!! I still have 2 hall closets/junk pits to deal with. I started on my desk yesterday and got overwhelmed, so I figure I'll break it down to one bit at a time for the desk.
The good thing about living in a small apt is that I've been fairly good at keeping things cleaned/weeded otherwise I run out of space. But, I've been in this apt. for 9 years. That's some time to accumulate Stuff.
I know its a bit early since I won't be moving till the end of Sept, but my new job starts next week (eep!) and I want the bulk of it done before then.
I should be cleaning out closets. Actually, I should be finishing the job of cleaning them, which I started last week, and is now taking up most of the floor space in the bedroom. I want a nap. And 24 more hours in the day.
I've had a busy day. Must get this quilt top done. I'm sick as a dog, but sew away, I do. I've got the inside done!

It needs a better iron job before I start the borders.
But now I have coffee. And a doughnut. Hmm. Possibly not the breakfast of champions. Am still feeling oddly woozy.
I have the slept-too-much-oddly-woozy feeling, too.
Though I think it's also a too-much-sugar-woozy feeling. Damn you, Little Debbie!!!
Ugh, me too on the first. And the B&J Coffee Heath Bar Crunch I just pulled from the freezer should take care of the second.
Andi, is Sammie still doing ok and it was just a tummy upset?
thanks for asking, d - she does seem to be much better. appetite is back to normal. she does not seem to be running around playing as much as usual, but then, Harvey is acting bossier than usual with her. that, I figure, has to do with the shift in her relationship with Daniel. Sammie has been feeling way more comfortable with Dan, and spending more time with him. Harvey may feel she is poaching on his territory, trying to become more socially dominant, so he has to assert his dominance over her - but in reality she just wants a bit more attention, and not to boss Harvey.
sigh.
Cat politics.
ION, Sammie is spending way more time with Daniel, leaving me to exclaim, "Huh. I'm going to have to get my own damn cat."
Alpha-bits.
Got Harvey's lab results back yesterday - mind you, this was all preventative, time for his annual shots and check up. I figured he's 9 now, and time for a thorough. All his numbers are good, except he was slightly dehydrated.
Huh, what?
I feed those cats canned food, and add a couple tablespoons of water to each portion - not to mention the nice water bowl they have. I'm a little astonished at the knowledge that even feeding wet food plus water is not enough to thoroughly hydrate a cat. But more importantly, I'm a lot worried about all those cats whose owners feed them dry food. They have to be chronically dehydrated.
