meara's got bad transit mojo.
lisah needs some punk rock aerobics. "Hey, HO! Let's Go!"
That's more of an exhortation.
In the last day I've discovered that I can move the touchpad on the laptop by kneading my fingers on it instead of stroking it.
I have no idea why this is significant except it's totally changing my relationship to the computer.

Imagine how the computer feels.
Oh, Bay Area folk: know anywhere in the East Bay I get free dinner on my birthday? And/or free ice cream?
If you can get someone else to take you out, most places will give you free ice cream. You just get your taker-outer to pull the waiter aside at the beginning of the meal and whisper that it's your birthday, and then usually there's singing and a tasty treat at the end of the meal.
Chevy's (there's one right on the water in Emeryville) will throw in a free sombrero.
And, not that it's classically lovely Bay Area fine dining or anything, but this page will give you a free appetizer/dessert and $5 off birthday coupon to Red Lobster.
Also, happy birthday!
And happy post-birthday, Trudy, and may the hangover be both mild and totally worth it for the sake of whatever debauchery came before!
I almosted posted "I think I went to high school with a girl named Kelly Kapoor" until someone mentioned "The Office" and I realized
noooo. You only watch her on the teevee.
You know, I'm starting to find it really annoying that when other people in my department are out, I'm expected to fill in for them and make sure the important parts of their jobs get done. When I'm out, NSM - I'll come back from vacation or being sick and everything's been dumped on my desk and I have to scramble to catch up. grump.

Heh. It's right next to my office.

Ah, of course. We're going to Pasta Pomodoro, where I get a free appetizer. Maybe they'll throw in some dessert too.

Heh.
I am extremely tired. Also, have not had breakfast or coffee. Have already taught three regular classes and ran an advisory session, and have two more classes later today. I really hate this schedule.
On the positive side, however, I'm enjoying my students quite a bit. And we have tomorrow off for Rosh Hashanah. Yay sleeping in!

Oh, man, this just makes me want to work in Emeryville even more. Lunch with P-C!
