"Fuck Western ideologically-motivated gender identification!" Sulu gasped, and came.

Haven't seen all of...Finding Nemo.

They find him.

....wait, was that terrible of me?

Nah. It was just punishment for a mommy who has not watched these movies!!!!

Suzi, good job with the Not Dying. Carry on the good work.

Drew is very cool. I mean, we knew that already, on account of his generaly Drewness, but still - extra coolness points for anyone who helped create Lilo and Stitch or Monsters, Inc.

One of my kids this year is the spitting image of Lilo. Spitting. Image. Bigtime.

Meanwhile - TODAY IS A SNOW DAY!!!!!!!!

::dances La Cuccaracha (which she can't spell) nekkid, throwing glitter and cackling manically::

....or, more accurately, it is a Tree Day. School is cancelled because one of the Big Old Trees (which get their own little miniature temples full of goodies, and incense, and silk scarves, and miniature elephants and dancing girls and garlands of flowers) fell down (presumably in last night's Very Big Rain) and knocked out all the electricity!!!

Huzzah! Huzzah! Huzzah!

...I mean, I really do enjoy the hell out of my job, but - TREE DAY!!!

And you know what's ESPECIALLY good about Tree Day? The daughter of a friend of mine is coming to crash at my place on quite short notice - and that's cool, and she's totally welcome, but because I only found out on Monday that she was arriving at 1pm, that's a trifle awkward, what with me (supposed to be) teaching until 4pm. So we made a convoluted plan for her to go find the meter taxis and tell them the name of a street round the corner from my work, where she can at least sit in a pub for a few hours, or go exploring the shops, rather than spending like four hours in an airport.

But now I can make a big placard and meet her off the plane!!

And if I fail to meet her off the plane? It's still okay! Because I can head to the pub and find her there pretty much as soon as she gets there!

Huzzah! Huzzah! Huzzah!

::dances around nekkid throwing glitter some more::

"Fuck Western ideologically-motivated gender identification!" Sulu gasped, and came.

Oh - I should maybe explain that it's 7.15 am on September 12th in my world, right?

You were a wrong baby who grew up wrong. The wrong kind of wrong. It's better you hear it from a friend.

Very true. I'm always blown away by what the people close to me have done and often feel like my own coolness just doesn't measure up.

Pfft. Your coolness is the shizznit.

A friend once described me as "the coolest of the uncool". Which is one of the nicest compliments I've ever received.

How are you me? You need to stop that. Only I can be me. ~Kara

That's a good thing, Fay. I can't imagine you throwing glitter whilst naked on any other day and time than Wednesday morning at 7:15.

Suzi, I'm with everyone else who says yay to living suzi. You'd be much less fun as a zombie, and really, it's all about the fun.

Kara says, "Oh, thank you, thank you all so much!"

She's getting frighteningly grown up. She asked for girly toys, but we'd already bought her a gamecube, so I was afeared. No worries though, she thinks it's the best. present. ever.

Dinner was her favorite: fettuccine Alfredo sprinkled with thick cut bacon, steamed asparagus, a salad with baby lettuce, tomato, apple, and dried cranberries, and as soon as I've finished my coffee, we're going to have chocolate cake with some sort of cream goo in the middle and thick fudge icing on top.

Fan tas tic! Yum! Deena, I think I may swing around to your place to wish Kara a happy birthday and steal some of that cake, what with it being Tree Day, and me being thus free to do what I please with my time.

....I promise I'll get dressed first. In something more than glitter.

Now let us crush something soft and watch it fountain blood. That is a girlish thing to want to do, yes?

....I promise I'll get dressed first. In something more than glitter.

Nooooooo!

Dinner sounds yummy, Deena. I couldn't believe how grown up Kara sounded on the phone today.

"Fuck Western ideologically-motivated gender identification!" Sulu gasped, and came.

I'm envious of people who have heard Kara on the phone! (And incidentally, I totally get what Erika said about Kara reminding her of herself when she was wee. I can see that.)

Also, I notice that it looks like my 'Happy Birthday Trudy' post from yesterday didn't post. Crap. This dialup thing is so bloody unpredictable! Some things post, some things don't. Gah. Anyway - retroactively, Happy Birthday Trudy (and still Kara).

In my world, though, it's already Sunil Day. Happy Birthday, Sunil!

...so I've just put on the Hairspray soundtrack, and now I'm off to grind some coffee beans to brew some nice fresh coffee with cinnamon, what with it being, you know, Tree Day.

t /obnoxiously gleeful

I propose lots more Tree Days for Fay. But without the big old trees, y'know, dying.

Kara is such a delight on the phone; I highly recommend it. When I told her she sounded like a big girl, she said, "Yeah, but I'll always be your favorite."
