We ended up watching some DVD's. Finally saw 300. Boy, i think that's the closest thing to gay porn I've ever seen! Lots of eye candy for both sides! On the whole, a good flick.
Yes, I enjoyed it too. I think the comic book is better, mind you - and no, not just because the Spartans are wearing nothing but sweat in the book, honestly - and isn't it hilarious, seeing the Spartans interacting with the other Greeks, incidentally?
Other Greeks: We are hard! We have armour and swords and things!
Spartans: We are so fucking hard we need no armour but our manly sweat and baby oil! RAAAAAR!
Everyone else: Fuck! Run away! Run away!
...anyway, yes - I did enjoy it, but I was distracted quite a lot by Daisy Wenham putting on an accent and being all Hard!Soldier!Bloke!...when we all know he's called Daisy. Blessity bless bless. And I'm fond of Gerard Butler - he is a wee scone. In this case a wee scone going "Do not fuck with me, motherfuckers! Raaar!" but a wee scone nevertheless. A far cry from playing the Opera Ghost, eh? Go Team Musical Scotsman!
The one change I wish they hadn't made from the book is in cranking up the Weird!Freaky!Monster! stuff. There was no need, imho - I'd have preferred it to stay historical, rather than get bogged down in Faux Orientalist Lord Of The Rings stuff.
But - swords and hot nearly-naked men - that was all fun.

In FayWorld, I have finished a day's work and a meeting, and gone and given a tutorial, and now I'm home and chilling with a bacon'n'creamcheese'n'mango chutney sandwich and some salsa and tortilla chips.
Mmmmmmm.
I am only half way through my work day and contemplating lunch.
And now I want chips and salsa. Or maybe just chips. Proper chips, with loads of salt and curry sauce. Mmm.
Mmmm proper chips.
But! Waitrose Mango Chutney!
!!!!
One of our supermarket has a deal with Waitrose, and they stock a small range of Waitrose products! This is very exciting, for it is Genuine Stuff From Home.
(...there may be some inherent unlikelihood in being in Asia, and getting excited about Mango Chutney as
nostalgic
comfort food from home, but I choose to ignore it. La la la.)
So long as I can get proper tea with proper milk in it, then I'm happy.
But Waitrose stuff! How nice! Kind of like the exotic food section in Tescos over here, but, not.
When I lived in Brazil, they stocked Skippy peanut butter in the exotic foods section. And Campbell's tomato soup. I thought the soup was the funniest - my dad refuses to eat tomato soup today because he was dirt poor as a child and they had way way too many tomato soup dinners.
Gronk. Tis the first day of school for my chitlins. We are up early so we can go out to breakfast before they head off to their dooms.
How do I have a high school senior? Boggle.
Oh, Stephanie! I'm even more excited about my trip now. It's gonna be real! Not just something I talk about maybe doing. I've got my tickets and everything! And I'm finally going to meet you all!
I come home the day before MLK day, so that won't work, but we'll still have fun!
Suzi! I can't believe she's a senior either! Craziness! Hope you guys are off having a good breakfast.
School starts for me today. I need to get back into a routine. Maybe I'll start tomorrow...
Fabulous icon, Daniel! Is it gankable?
Sure. I store the original cat in a box from the lolcat link Fay had upthread.
I actually did a rough version of it at full size, but I had to redo the text after the shrink to make it readable again. The bigger one is quite a bit rougher looking, as I did a quick pass with clone stamp in Photoshop to erase the cat.
Good morning, good morning. (For me)
I'm killing time in a Panera so that rush hour traffic lets up and I can start the, well, actually, quite short drive home. Bless Panera and its free internet. It ranks up there with libraries and the free books they offer... only Panera comes with tasty beverages, too. Green iced tea this morning. Yum.
Oh, I love Panara! I wish I one close enough to actually go to. Their Chicken and Wild Rice soup is like none other.
