I'm off to fiesta hermosa.

OMG. I'm at the flippin' beach. The coast. It's supposed to be cooler here. I am sympathetic to those inland, but holy mother of dog, I don't have a/c BECAUSE I'm at the beach and it's supposed to be cooler. 96º is NOT cooler. So how hot is it? I took my carafe of water and added ice to it (something I never do, cuz not a huge fan of ice water). I added a tray of cubes. A TRAY of cubes. In less than 10 minutes, every sliver of said cubes was melted.

Yup, spending my LDW with friends with a/c.... as soon as they wake up.

On Saturday I got up at 4 a.m. and rode with my DH to the airport. Then I got in the driver's seat, turned the car around and drove up to see Sox and family in Philadelphia. I got to meet the lovely d, and we all ate way too much yummy food, and watched a couple of episodes of Wonderfalls. On Sunday, I had a walk with Sox and family, then got back in the car to get back to D.C. in time to go to open houses. I really liked one house, but it already has an offer on it, and the seller's agent was being pushy, so I decided I could turn my back on it. Then I went to Trader Joe's, spent over an hour on the phone with my mother (she knows all about your house now, Sox!) and collapsed into bed. Couldn't sleep, and ended up reading half the night.

All of which is to say, I have spent most of my Monday poking around the house to get a few chores done and trying to find the inspiration to do a few more, but the balcony and my book have been a distraction all day.

So far I've spent my free day saturating my hair in olive oil. That's about it. Well, other than watching The Closer.

I'm waiting for my motivation to kick in -- which'll probably be right when I'm supposed to be going to bed tonight.

My sympathies go out to all y'all melting under the blazing sun. We're finally catching a break here and staying in the high 80s rather than high 90s, thank goodness.

Omnis, the house is a sty and I'm working on curriculum, but you are more than welcome to come up and enjoy the central AC.

My MIL is in town until Wednesday morning, so we're about to go shopping. She's buying us an anniversary present, which will probably be a food processor, the only major kitchen appliance we're lacking. (We have a mini one that my mom told us was all the food processor we'd ever need. She was wrong.)

My hair has been feeling rather dry lately, probably due to the lack of humidity here, and EVOO is great for the hair and the scalp. With how much I color and blow dry mine, I should do this weekly... I'm just not that dedicated.
