askye, I'd love for your mom to tell your aunt that if she doesn't want to be part of the problem, she needs to be part of the solution.
Suddenly, Owen has taken umbrage with every single tag on every single plush toy they have. I find myself having to cut tags off of plush butts throughout the day as he brings them to me and tells me to "fix it."
Paging Windsparrow and DJ. Could you wave at us? It sounds like you had some wicked weather.
Really? Weather? I must have slept through it.
Oh, good. Sleeping through it is good, as long as you don't wake up with a tree through your roof. The national news keeps talking about southeast Minnesota.
Isn't Daisy Jane in Texas? Ginger, are you forgetting that I'm not in Az anymore? Either way, thank you for thinking of me. Now we just need to hear that DJ is safe and well.
Cuz here in Minnesota, we are having a lovely morning.
Oh, yeah, there is wayyyyyy too much water on the ground in other areas of the state - but here in Faribault, we have been fortunate. The absolute worst of weather systems tend to slide either north or south of us - possibly because of the confluence of the Straight River and the Cannon River, and the way the hills roll around here.
I'm glad it's lovely weather. I just mentally check the Buffista list in my head when I hear about bad weather and the like.
I finally managed to get back to sleep. Max did curl up next to me for a while, but I don't know what happened next since the phone just woke me up. In bad news, I agreed to work on somebody this evening and I really need some time off. In good news, it'll pay really well.
askye, I'm sorry this is such an ordeal for your family. Also that your Aunt W is such a jerk and wants her every wish granted. I like Cashmere's suggested phrasing.
Man, now I think I slept too long as I have that groggy feel. Oh well.
We're having lovely weather here too (whew) - and the river is going down.
I think given the choice between the destructive high winds that Chicago and some of the 'burbs got and the flood. . . I choose the flood. Well, I have been v. little affected by it. I'm sure that if I were one of the people who had to be evaaced out, I might feel differently. But days and possibly weeks w/o electricity . . . that would totally suck.
