too funny! "It's a small world after all"
How she doing?
[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

How she doing?
She was handling the airport stress a lot better than I was, but her company was paying for the hotel room she had to acquire after they cancelled her flight so that definitely helps. She's on her way to Toronto for a trade show.
I ended up back at my friend's house in the war zone Mount Prospect with no power for the few hours of sleep I got to catch before the next flight out at 6:00 am. Check out the storm damage
my life is a series of progress bars. Currently running:
Boy do I know how to live it up on a Friday night! ;)
We're watching "Home Movies" Season three.
Effing cats woke me up this morning. It was my first day to sleep in in a while and I was looking forward to it. Will I never learn that life likes to thwart me?
I have no idea why my cat is meowing, since he's got all the essentials. I think he just wants to go downstairs, but if he does that he scratches the furniture and no. He's driving me bonkers!
d it must be a kitty conspiracy because Anna cried all night and all this morning. She has food, she has water. She doesn't want to be petted. I finally broke down and gave her a canned food just to get some peace.
I slept like crap last night and crap the night before.
Then I called Mom, because we were supposed to do something this morning but I begged off until this afternoon (and really I'm not a morning person). She caught me up on the lastest news with G'ma. The lady that comes and stays with her quit. Just told Aunt J she wasn't coming back because G'ma was "mean" to her. J doesn't know if this is because of the decision to put G'ma in assisted living or what.
Then the news was broken to Aunt W, who promptly acted like a spoiled brat. She's convinced that G'ma is going to be abused and raped in the PNH and die with quickly, either because of abuse or because she's left languishing in such a horrible, horrible place. And it's just hearbreaking and blah blah. Basically she wants G'ma to stay at home but she doesn't want to actually do anything to make it happen. And Aunt W is one of those people who reacts out of fear to everything.
Downside to living with father: he turned on the speakers in my room at about 8 this morning, waking me up with NPR for my own good, so I wouldn't get into "bad sleep patterns." Then he wanted me to make biscuits. And I think he's puzzled about my disgruntledness. He's going to want to leave (in what is RIDICULOUSLY bright sun, I have to say) in about 20 minutes to go to the street fair. Where I'll probably have to pretend to recognize my students. Not to mention the other teachers! Small, small town.
{{{askye and family}}}
Oh, my! Emily, I suddenly feel no guilt for most things I did while living with you!
oh, askye. When does your G'ma go into the assisted living place? I hope it's not too much longer; things should be better after that. It was such an ordeal to get my mom into assisted living, mainly because my sister was convinced we were Bad Daughters and mom would be miserable if we didn't let her live at home.
She moves in Monday. Mom thinks the woman quit because she saw her hours were going to be cut. But Aunt J planned to keep her schedule the same for 2-3 weeks and then cut her hours back but still keep her on.
But Aunt W just lives in a world of denial. She didn't want to believe G'ma had dementia, she kept saying it if Aunt J would just stop doing things for her and babying her then G'ma would be able to continue to do things.
And I think she's built these idealized castles in the sky about G'ma and J and the whole situation. She wants some magic way for G'ma to stay at home but W doesn't want to actual do anything to make it happen
Aunt W lives a couple hours from here but she hasn't seen Mom in years, W told Mom she didn't drive over here because the "drive was too boring" but in the same call asked Mom when she was going over to see W!
