[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

Why did Darth Vader cross the road? To get to the Dark Side!

We have a print of a Mary Cassat painting in our bedroom that has a blond haired toddler in it. Isaac insists that it's him. I of course agree with him.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

I had the reverse recognition issue as a kid. Took me more than 20 years to admit some of the pictures in my photo album were actually of me.

They looked halfway cute, and that was weird.

Now tagless for your comfort.

Owen thinks babies are Olivia and kids are him. I always try to name the buffista babies I show him online.

Annabel is a cutiehead.

I have a feeling Owen's going to go through a dress phase. He tries to put on some of Liv's frilly stuff now, even though it is too small. At a friend's house, he dug a pink & purple toddler pajama top out of the laundry and tugged it on over his t-shirt. He really prefers pink clothes or nudity.

I'm off this morning. I'm giving a friend a ride to the doctor for an endoscopy. She's the one that had gastric bypass a couple of weeks ago and she's having trouble keeping anything down. A little health~ma would be appreciated.

It's nice to see some brave pretenders trying to make it interesting.

Cashmere, I wish your friend all the health possible.

Sox, I'm planning to be there around 10:45 unless I hear from you - I sent you my cell number last night.

Today my bathroom might be all torn up. Fun. Oh well, I won't be here to care.

Librarian Warlord

We're supposed to go see the Goo Goo Dolls

I'm the same age as the Goo Goo Dolls. I know this because when I was as UB they were at Buff State and I'd go to parties at the house in Allentown where one (or more) of them lived and they'd play. In those olden days we could also go see the Barenaked Ladies at the gay bars in Toronto and it was before the cease and desist order so they'd sing McDonald's Girl.

askye, that's wonderful news for your G'ma, your Aunt and the whole family.

Cash, a little health ~ma winging it's way to your friend from me.

Today I have the horrible mid-boss duty of telling one of the librarians she needs to dress more professionally. I'm not looking forward to it because how women dress is such a touchy subject, and I suspect that part of the complainer's problem is that she chooses ugly clothes, which I cannot fix.

eta: d, I pinged Sox, despite her "I busy!" icon to let her know you were confirming plans here. Let me know if you need her tel # or anything.

not your mom's socks.

d- see you at 10:45. Chestnut Hill Coffee Co. My # is insent.

sparky - can you get ahold of that noxious What Not To Wear person?

JZ - yay for the not so bad and good job opts!

boo for all the bad mean co-workers (and potential dick-bosses).

I is busy. um. here.

for me weird is Dave Matthews Band being all out there. In C'ville, they were a college band, playing every week for $7 and we were visited at a few house parties. Now he's all ... well, pop. They still have one of the best fiddle players on the circuit though.

Thanks Sparky. She's got mine, and I have location confirmed, so it should be fun!

Sorry you have to discuss dress code, though. That's no fun at all.

Heh. See you soon, Sox!

Friends don't let friends read "Atlas Shrugged"

well ... yay for askye's grandmother - it sounds like this is a solution that's going to make everyone happier (and your grandmother safer). JZ, a lot of places pay more for putting up with jerks (cf law firms) and if you could see yourself tolerating this particular one, it might work out; if he's no worse than some of the people you deal with and the pay's higher, think about it. Suzi, have fun at the concert! SFistas, have fun with meara (but we get her back!). Susan and DJ - sorry you're having such a bad time. But you didn't do anything wrong, and you shouldn't feel stupid (you aren't - neither of you!).

Now ... off to see if I can get this issue of our journal to the printer by next week!

Thrive to spite them

Last night I had the strangest dream about a co worker proposing to me. Very weird. I ate the ring by accident.
