Fred: It's the pictures in my mind that are getting me. It's like being stuck in a really bad movie with those Clockwork Orange clampy things on my eyeballs. Wesley: Why imagine? Reality's disturbing enough.

Spike's Bitches 37: You take the killing for granted.

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

d, she turned 3 in April. She is just a few days older than Owen is.

Yep, her birthday is 4/6.

Owen went walkabout half the night last night and I found him sleeping in the hall outside our bedroom at 6:30 a.m. He's (not surprisingly) still asleep.

One Saturday recently I woke up to discover Annabel had awakened in the night and made it as far as our doorway before falling asleep again. I wish we'd taken pictures.

See? I gave everybody here an opportunity to tell me what a bad person I am and nobody did, because I fuckin' rule.

Do you get in tomorrow morning just pre-interview, meara, or are you here already? Have any post-interview/pre-flight local plans been made yet?

I whipped out my thank you notes for yesterday's interview last night -- it turns out that if you actually enjoyed the interview and really want the job, thank you notes are easy to do. I therefore anticipate some pain tonight.

I've got no idea at all about what/who's appropriate for email vs. handwritten. Susan? Robin? Others?

I fly out in a few hours, JZ! As of yet I have no plans, but I figure I don't get in until dinnertime, so I may just sack out at the hotel tonight and study for the interview.

I expect tomorrow night, however, I will need a beer.

Friends don't let friends read "Atlas Shrugged"

And, FYI, Jennifer Crusie's not the only one in LA. Man with leopard. NAKED man with leopard.

Punishingly Intricate

It's a weird and wacky situation, and it makes me want to cry and throw things.

ugh I'm so sorry, Karl. I hope something great (that won't eat your brain) comes along very soon!

Does anybody know what I should wear on Sunday (aka my birthday that i'm spending at a rollerderby bout where I will see my new super-intense crush, for the first time since crush started. Oh and his girlfriend? What is the right outfit for that???)

I've never been there, actually. I just resent so much that it's called "Cupcake" and does not sell, you know, cupcakes!!! But maybe I'll take a walk over today.

Compassionately intolerant

Go you Cashmere with the speed demoning! Congrats on your 15:36 mile.

My hambugered feet from last Saturday's debacle screamed and wailed when I put my sneaks on for the first time this morning. For the 10 miler on Saturday, it's going to be duct tape and moleskin for me babee. I'm going to learn to be a taping machine between now and then.

I've seen a lot of sources that say handwritten is best because it's personal, but for my last several job searches I've used email. IME the interview/decision part of filling a position moves quickly--it can take forever to evaluate resumes and set up interviews, and sometimes the HR part of making an offer can be kinda glacial too. But if you want to make an impression on the person who just interviewed you, IMHO it pays to move fast. And I know when I'm on the receiving end, I don't care one way or another.

but the burrito place next door to Cupcake is awesome (having never lived in California, I say this). Huge burritos; great salads - a diablo sauce that takes your head off. Still, no cupcakes.

There are some pretty sassy things in that store, and occasionally a really amazing sale. good shoes.
