I've never been there, actually. I just resent so much that it's called "Cupcake" and does not sell, you know, cupcakes!!! But maybe I'll take a walk over today.

Go you Cashmere with the speed demoning! Congrats on your 15:36 mile.

My hambugered feet from last Saturday's debacle screamed and wailed when I put my sneaks on for the first time this morning. For the 10 miler on Saturday, it's going to be duct tape and moleskin for me babee. I'm going to learn to be a taping machine between now and then.

Good Trouble and Righteous Fights

I've got no idea at all about what/who's appropriate for email vs. handwritten. Susan? Robin? Others?

I've seen a lot of sources that say handwritten is best because it's personal, but for my last several job searches I've used email. IME the interview/decision part of filling a position moves quickly--it can take forever to evaluate resumes and set up interviews, and sometimes the HR part of making an offer can be kinda glacial too. But if you want to make an impression on the person who just interviewed you, IMHO it pays to move fast. And I know when I'm on the receiving end, I don't care one way or another.

but the burrito place next door to Cupcake is awesome (having never lived in California, I say this). Huge burritos; great salads - a diablo sauce that takes your head off. Still, no cupcakes.

There are some pretty sassy things in that store, and occasionally a really amazing sale. good shoes.

Good to hear, Susan! I know I talked to my recruiter yesterday and she said they were having a "pow wow" today regarding me, so I definitely figure it does move fast!

I mailed handwritten (fairly brief--on little thank you cards) ones from the airport to the head of the department and his boss, figuring they were really the decision makers. Those should hopefully get there today (it was after mail pickup when I got to the airport). And then emailed everyone together, today (before they were in the office). That would be the other problem of having an interview with ten or fifteen people!

The key to thank you notes is to buy small ones. That way, saying a little looks like a lot.

There's actually the potential for me to be able to play next weekend, but the 8th and 9th are definitely not possible.

So, by next weekend do you mean the 1st & 2nd? Just making sure we're on the same page, ND.
