Well, we may not have parted on the best of terms. I realize certain words were exchanged. Also, certain... bullets. But that's air through the engine. It's past. We're business people.

askye, much G'ma ~ma. Is there a friend of your Aunt who could talk to her and help convince her that getting some extra care for G'ma would be a good thing for everyone? Coming from someone outside of the family it might be easier to hear.

Karl, heaps of employment ~ma.

I'm a full of the gronk this a.m., not having been able to shut my eyes last night until midnight and then up at 5:30 a.m. I hope to bug out of work a little earlier today, but since I've moved up to mid-level boss lady, I'm finding the goof-off time harder to come by, if only because I'm supposed to be setting an example.

Fucking hell! 17 years ago? How did that happen?

I've been wondering the same thing myself. If you figure it out, be sure to let me know because I want to lodge a complaint.

Thrive to spite them

Sparky, I don't think she has a friend who my aunt really confinds in about this stuff. I know the doctor is useless, it's a small Oklahoma town, so their medical options are limited and the doctor is just..frustrating because when G'ma was at point where it was unsafe for her to drive the doctors refused to tell her not to drive (both my aunt and my Mom asked and asked but they refused).

I'll ask Mom if there's someone outside the family who might suggest that it's time.

It's just been really hard on my aunt becuase until a year ago the only regular help she was getting from her siblings was Mom flying up from Florida twice a year. My uncle that lives 2 hours away has finally started coming once a week and my other aunt that lives here in FL as well flies up and spends 2 days (at most). I think last Christmas she shocked everyone and stayed a week, and actually spent about 3 days in G'ma's company.

Shit's all sorts of different now.

Smitings of the most apocalyptic, harshest that the Empress can manage, kind for the fuckwads who post ignorant, judgemental responses on the news story about the virus that causes fat cells to form.

May every item of clothing that said fuckwads ever attempt to put on suddenly shrink 5 sizes once hitting thighs and shoulders and bellies.

As for Karl's former employers ...

May they find themselves suddenly unable to correspond in anything but LOLCat icons.

I'll cross my fingers that there is such a person, for your aunt's sake. It's a huge job taking care of an elderly parent.

I had my usual breakfast this a.m. and I'm now at work and my stomach is growling. I hope my stomach is satisfied with coffee, because that's all it's gettin' 'til lunch!

curtseys gratefully

Thank you, O Most Gracious Imperial Highness.

ETA: a quote so stuff makes sense. Funny how other people move on with other comments while one is typing.

The cats are meowing insistently, prompting Daniel to say, "Cat stacking is wrong."

I'd like to stack these cats. They are acting like they have never been fed. Oh, how quickly they forget.

See? I gave everybody here an opportunity to tell me what a bad person I am and nobody did, because I fuckin' rule.

Tons and tons of ~ma to Karl. I'm so sorry. Stupid, stupid them.

I had my usual breakfast this a.m. and I'm now at work

The timestamp on this post gave me quite a jolt until I finally remembered that you're no longer in California and your at-workness isn't quite as obscenely wrong as it at first appeared.

Except for the obscenely wrong "no longer in California" part.

It was lovely seeing Sean and S and juliana last night. Lots of good theater talk, and Matilda was somewhat fussy but mostly just chatty and happy, and Sean talked a bit about his own 12-year-old self being utterly smitten with his tiny baby sister and her bald baby head, which was just lethal with the cute and sweet.

I have two job interviews--one today for a company in SF and one tomorrow for a company in Oakland (I think just a couple of blocks from P-C's apartment). I am twitching with nerves, stumbling through frantic review of both co's websites and business philosophy manifestos, and trying to stifle the flop sweat of dread.

Stormpocalypse has hit the greater Ann Arbor area. It looks like I don't even know what outside.
