Tons and tons of ~ma to Karl. I'm so sorry. Stupid, stupid them.
I had my usual breakfast this a.m. and I'm now at work
The timestamp on this post gave me quite a jolt until I finally remembered that you're no longer in California and your at-workness isn't quite as obscenely wrong as it at first appeared.
Except for the obscenely wrong "no longer in California" part.
It was lovely seeing Sean and S and juliana last night. Lots of good theater talk, and Matilda was somewhat fussy but mostly just chatty and happy, and Sean talked a bit about his own 12-year-old self being utterly smitten with his tiny baby sister and her bald baby head, which was just lethal with the cute and sweet.
I have two job interviews--one today for a company in SF and one tomorrow for a company in Oakland (I think just a couple of blocks from P-C's apartment). I am twitching with nerves, stumbling through frantic review of both co's websites and business philosophy manifestos, and trying to stifle the flop sweat of dread.
Stormpocalypse has hit the greater Ann Arbor area. It looks like I don't even know what outside.

SuziQ is the obscenely early CA worker bee, I'm just average here in DC.
Good luck with the interviews!
Please to be sending the rain and cool to me. Record high. Record high. Record high. The words have lost all meaning.
I'm up. I'm here. At work. I have tea and instant oatmeal.
Wouldn't quite call any of that awake, though.
Holy fuck, that
is
obscene.
Suzi, please say you're leaving early, because otherwise that's just appalling.
Also, holy shit do I need to never post before coffee. Clearly I'm looking at all the letters and words, but I'm not doing what any rational person would call reading, what with the total lack of comprehension and all.
There's been a bird, possibly, squeaking outside my office window since yesterday. Somebody feed that bird! Or, bird, please fly away. I don't want to be wishing harm on any little creature but c'mon! You're making me crazy!!!
Meanwhile, I'm thinking that much as I like Thailand, maybe I'll start looking for a post in Eastern Europe or the Americas after this year
Go Americas! Choose Americas!
The one Brit I know working here is a college professor (of ill-repute). I'm sure I must know more than just him but my brain is very tired.
I think flats are very sugar! but I have a hard time wearing them due to having a high arch. I love my Sketchers with awesome arch support but, lo, they are the stinkiest shoes in ever.
Karl, that sucks. I know you liked it there. Better job soon ~ma.

check to see if it is Annoying Pigeon (served at Ding How, reportedly, btw) or Blue Heron. There are a couple of the latter nesting in Thames Street Park. At the back of the playground. But sometimes their sprog go walkabout...

WOW! Really??? I haven't seen any around here. Bird seems to have stopped for now. It sounds like it would be smaller than either a pigeon or heron. But my hearing is pretty bad.
