I said I'm sorry. I've made mistakes, but fear was never one of them.

not your mom's socks.

great logos ND!

happy belated Fay!

six more boxes to go. The ones in the basement (eee. we have a basement) do. not. count.

We spent the entire weekend in Baltimore working on the casa - paint, scrub, scrub, paint... oh-we-oh...yeoh-oh! It was good, but we left at 10pm on Sunday night and then drove back to Philly. We wanted to leave it in better condition than we found it (sort of hiker's philosophy, I guess), and also I sleep better knowing that people will see it clean. Sparky - I don't know who's genes those are, but when Tom saw me scrubbing the kitchen floor, he muttered something about FamilyNames, and ran for the hills.

Before we left, I went back inside to say goodbye to the house, and took some photos of some of the built-ins and the special things we did for it (much of it loving hands at home... imho we got pretty good at the built-in-bookshelf) in the 7 years it was ours. I'm starting to get my head around the fact that we don't live there anymore. Sad and pathetic, I know. Iris has her head firmly around it, most of the time. She loves having her own room - and stands in the doorway of said room and makes everyone who wants to come in knock and ask permission.

This week, we will try to do something that involves being in our neighborhood - or at least in our new city.

have a good trip vw! chikat - good luck with school!

It's nice to see some brave pretenders trying to make it interesting.

Sox, I missed you on the road by about 30 minutes!

I have an excruciating headache. Fortunately, I have a massage in 10 minutes. I am so broken right now. I hope she can fix me!

ND, those are really cool logos.

I’m responsible for my own happiness? I can’t even be responsible for my own breakfast! (Bojack Horseman)

dude, I'm psyched! When I was working at the Episcopal church in Brookline a few years ago, one of the parishioners was imprisoned in China, got a 5 year sentence. It was pretty stressful on the family and the community, as you can imagine. He was released a few months ago (which I hadn't heard before now)!!!!!!!!!!!!

I just remember the total panic of not knowing anything, just that he'd been arrested, no one could talk to him, and the government said nothing. Now he's home! YAY! [link]

Librarian Warlord

Sox, I don't think Tom can blame that on our mutual genes. ::imagines my father and Sox's father scrubbing their respective kitchen floors, laughs like a loon:: If you were shooting a few holes in the wall of the bedroom, just one last time, then he could blame the E genes.

d, I hope the massage helps!

Nora, that is good news to wake up to!

"This bar smells like kerosene and stripper tears."

Kick ass logos ND!

I'm taking the day off to get some stuff done (get passport, do some grocery shopping, go to the library etc.) Know what I've done so far? Showered and had coffee.

If it weren't for my mother I would be screwed re: my passport. She has stayed on me because she had to get my birth card.

Let's hope I actually get it done today without her riding me.

Compassionately intolerant

A friend bugged and bugged me about renewing my passport...from a somewhat paranoid "In this day and age, no right thinking person would be without one" sort of way.

Good thing she did, when I finally pulled it out of the drawer to see when it would expire, I had one day to get it done. Saved a bunch in re-issue vs. renewal fees, bless her.
