I'm taking the day off to get some stuff done (get passport, do some grocery shopping, go to the library etc.) Know what I've done so far? Showered and had coffee.
PASSPORT! I need to do that. Friday. Friday I will take care of that.
If it weren't for my mother I would be screwed re: my passport. She has stayed on me because she had to get my birth card.
Let's hope I actually get it done today without her riding me.
A friend bugged and bugged me about renewing my passport...from a somewhat paranoid "In this day and age, no right thinking person would be without one" sort of way.
Good thing she did, when I finally pulled it out of the drawer to see when it would expire, I had one day to get it done. Saved a bunch in re-issue vs. renewal fees, bless her.

I am brimming with kitten envy! Brimming! My kitten says very little, and when he does it's these pathetic wee murmurous half-mews. 'Course he used to have a big deep booming meow, back before that whole genital mutilation thing. Once his bollocks went, his voice went too.

Huh. Despite falling asleep at 2AM, I woke up just after 7 this morning. My body seems to know that the school year cometh. I am going into work today to get my classroom organized, but there's no point in getting in the shower now for an early start--not fighting my way through the height of rush hour when I don't need to, thankyouverymuch--so this early wakeup is a bit off-putting. I have fed and medicined the kitten and let the cats out. Now I am back in bed with the laptop, pretending I'm going to get more sleep.

Sox, it's so sad to say goodbye to an old house, but I just know that soon you'll grow just as attached to your new home. Iris is so damned cute with her very own bedroom, too.
