Thanks for the well wishes. They say they think everyone is going to be ok, but since that's the same thing they said when my grandparents and my uncle went in, it's sounding a little less reassuring.

I just want to watch the game for a bit, chat with Jilli for a while, watch more death and destruction and then maybe eat before hanging out with Jilli again.

I'm up for it. Bear in mind, Jilli will be at work til 6 or later in the evening.

Since I changed airlines I got to be "special" at security. At least the TSA agents have a good sense of humor. Or, at least these ones did. I suspect it has a lot to do with who they have to deal with...

Last night my DH was on the phone with his uncle in Kansas City and I realized that they were talking about how sick his cousin's wife was. Turns out she has West Nile Virus. I ask my DH whether or not she's in hospital -- he doesn't know. I ask when she got the diagnosis -- he doesn't know. I ask who's helping out with the 2 and the 4 year old (the Dad has 2 jobs) -- he doesn't know. I have no idea what they talked about for so long w/r/t this illness because he didn't ask any of the questions that I would have.

In sum: Men folk is weirdos!

Today I got an email and pictures from a friend who was supposed to get married in about 6 weeks, but she and her (now) DH ditched the wedding plans and eloped!

OMG, Seamus is so cute - you clearly HAD to take him home - reisistance was futile.

This is so very true. Poor little guy is crying his head off in his room right now. We went in and spent time with him already this morning, but he just wants to be with humans all. the. time. His kitty flu seems a bit better today, and I've already given him his antibiotic. He took that pretty well. Not so sure how the (very sharp) nail trimming is going to go.

ETA: Ack! Sparky, I hope everything's okay. Also, I'm totally amused by your DH.

I'm assuming that everything will be okay until I hear otherwise -- she does have some family around there, although I can't quite remember which relatives. (My DH's family tends not to be helpful in these situations -- it's not that they don't want to help, but they just can't seem to get organized to actually help. They talk about helping a lot.) However, in an effort to find out what's going on I just shot an email off to my DH's aunt with questions about how she's doing.

Oh, that's good. Encephalitis is not fun and can have a long recovery.
