[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

Our wings are not tired.

My brother watches Fox News pretty much 24/7. I make him turn it off, because little brother. The news portions aren't that awful, obvious choices of what to show and how to phrase things, but not blatant. The shows that aren't just reading of news are unbearable.

Whine. I feel all uncomfortable and bloated. Like I weight 30 pounds more than usual. I'm trying to work up the energy to walk next door and visit with my mother. We leave tomorrow morning, early. It is her birthday tomorrow so we will celebrate it later today.

Also today DH & Bobby are on their way to the Boonville Woodsman's Field Days. Log cutting competitions, big equipment and stuff. They also have a parade with the Forest Queen and wood nymphs and such. My sister has to work the show seminars because she works in the industry.

Sorry the Braves sucked, Ginger. Fun with friends and baseball a good thing.

"There are few hours in life more agreeable than the hour dedicated to the ceremony known as afternoon tea."

TCG's mother finally cancelled for tomorrow, like I knew she would, but now the Edward Hopper exhibit and the Gibson reading I wanted to go to tomorrow are both sold out.

"It didn't taste good. It tasted soooo horrible. It tasted like....a vodka martini." - Matilda

How annoying, sj. I had a mother-in-law like that. In her case, she'd say she wanted to go, but then would be "sick" and we'd have two hours of her dramatic "Just go without me." By the time we got through all that, it was usually too late to go.

I wouldn't have particularly minded if the Braves had lost a well-played game, but it was a long series of pathetic hits and players going, "Oh, look! What's that round white thing in the infield?"

She's so annoying. She's trying to pull this crap about how we were supposed to go out last week, and now she wants to see just him next week, without me, probably to yell at him.

Life moves pretty fast. You don't stop and look around once in a while, you could miss it.

Laura, I hear ya. I gained back 15 lbs of the weight I lost last year. I feel like a big ginormous whale. Plus, I threw away my old clothes when I lost the weight, so I am down to three pairs of pants. Gotta get back to having less of me. The thing is--I don't think I can do that and still eat Raisinets every day. Oh, the humanity!

You should know I'm a big deal in the Resistance.

Gronklies all. I made some kick ass gazpacho last night. My first try! But now I'm sad because I just realized if I'm going to make it again at my house I have to buy a blender and a toaster.

Mostly lurking...

sj, that's so frustrating! I'm so sorry you have to deal with all of that.

Well, we're all ready for the baby shower. A couple cool pictures...

Thanks, vw. I can deal with it ok, but I really hate it that TCG has to deal with it.

What are people doing this weekend?

We're headed to a birthday party for a 3 year old and a 4 year old today and then dinner with TCG's dad and stepmom tonight (thankfully, they're very nice). Tomorrow, I think the revised plan is to go to Providence, have lunch somewhere on Federal Hill, shop for some yummy cheese while we're there, and then see a movie a Providence Place that isn't playing around here (Talk to Me).

Good Trouble and Righteous Fights

That's a great cake, vw!

Just went back to WeightWatchers for the first time in three weeks. I was up 0.2 lbs., which was less than I expected. Time to get back on it, though. I want to take better care of myself. My plan for when I reach my goal weight is to invest in my first re-enacting costume, because if I do it right, it'll be the most expensive outfit I've ever owned and will give me a wonderful incentive to STAY around that weight. So I talked to the leader after the meeting, and he loves the idea of me showing up as a visitor from ~1812 once I've made it to goal and gotten my outfit made.
