Good idea, Dana. I'm going to give landlady another 5 minutes and then head to a friend's house.

omnis, pursue. That's an order from a shy woman who can use M-16. - Shir

Kristin, is orange water cooler thingie still out there? is it clean? If you put frozies in there with ice, they'd prob keep for a while. Is there a cooler in the garage? That is a combo, ya? Unlock and get in, fill with ice and save some spoilage.

If you're going through hell/keep on going/don't slow down/keep your fear from showing/you might be gone/'fore the devil even knows you're there

It has Vodka (preferrably Monopolova), tomato juice, clam juice, olive juice, pepper, hot sauce (Louisiana Crystal is our fave), celery salt, squeezed lemon juice (go ahead and throw em in), and file. Garnish with either/and pickled green beans, celery, olives.

What drink is this? It sounds like a classic Canadian Bloody Caesar, until you get to the file.

Thrive to spite them

gronk.

So freaking tired, I just got home. My supervisor is leaving (no!) and I thought we were getting presents for her for her party next week. No, no we are getting her engraved stuff today. So I called Things Remembered, my boss paid, they'd have it for us by 6. I went to pick it up. They spelled her last name wrong. On three things (we got her a nameplate, clock, business card holder, and letter opener -- the letter opener had her initials so it was okay). So I left and went back around 7, she wasn't finished yet. AND one of the things had a scratch on it. Not huge but still visible and not acceptable. So she did the plate again.

And there was no gift wrapping, so I had to come home and gift wrap that. It's done! Everything is amazing.

However, G'ma called and asked if I could spend the weekend with her and I said yes, I'd be there tomorrow night. (this was before realizing I had to go to Things Remembered). Now I have laundry to do for the whole weekend, dishes to do, and I need to shave my legs.

Blergh.

"There are few hours in life more agreeable than the hour dedicated to the ceremony known as afternoon tea."

Happy Birthday, Debet Esse!

Yay, Deena!

Hec, I'm so sorry to hear about your friend. Tons of ~ma to her.

Mmm, gnocchi! Teppy, your brother sounds like a fantastic cook; I must drag TCG up to his restaurant sometime this Autumn.

vw and Nora, if you're really interested in learning how to make gnocchi, my grandfather could probably teach us.

There was a lot more I wanted to comment on, but I didn't keep notes as I was catching up little by little on my cell.

Mom and I went outlet shopping today. I bought a few tops but no botttoms, because apparently if you are over a size 6, you're just out of luck. I'm really going to miss Thursdays shopping with Mom when her school year starts up again.

Omnis, the orange water cooler is likely in the garage, which is blocked by the truck, which is locked. The keys are in the house. In any case, the orange cooler was never cleaned and therefore is possibly sentient and has wandered off on its own.

I am, however, home. I drove down to Burbank to take refuge with friend T. She helped me to load my groceries into her fridge...at which point we discovered that the frozen blueberries I'd bought were 1.) no longer frozen, 2.) completely soaking the bottom of one of the paper bags and everything in it, and 3.) dripping on her floor. Thank the gods she has hardwood floors.

Anyway, about thirty minutes later my landlady called to say that she was home, so I loaded everything back up and drove back. I think most of the groceries survived. I am having a once-frizen TJ's pizza tonight, though, because it had completely thawed and would likely not be very appetizing if I re-froze it.

Thunk.

I'm glad you were able to get in the house Kristin and the groceries mostly survived.

Now tagless for your comfort.

Kristin, I'm glad there wasn't much spoilage. Now I know why people market stuff like this and this.

I always worry about lockouts but my neighbor across the street has a key for dog-sitting and I have at least two friends here in town with spare keys to the house that I could call in a pinch.

I jogged a mile in 15:50 tonight! I'm getting closer to my goal.

Dog is my co-pilot.

That reminds me that I got the shoes that Bobbi sent and, lo, they are awesome. I need to take pictures of my feet in them after I get a pedi this weekend.

Waiting for the pics. Glad they arrived safely and that you agree on their awesomeness.
