[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

Now tagless for your comfort.

I'm seriously lacking in any chef-type relatives and it pisses me off.

Mmmm...someone called me from a 310 area code and left no message. Didn't recognize the number.

I’m responsible for my own happiness? I can’t even be responsible for my own breakfast! (Bojack Horseman)

Apropos of nothing, I want to learn how to make gnocchi. Nom nom nom.

Or, gnom gnom gnom.

As it were.

What else besides ramen can you scoop? YOU CAN SCOOP THIS WORLD FROM DARKNESS!

My little sister made the best bruschetta I've ever had last week. It didn't have any fancy mushrooms, just the usual suspects.

Trust my rage

Went to dinner at Sushi Groove with Martin last night, and I think we managed to eat our weight in sushi.

I love this about sushi. I can eat somuch and not feel full.

Mostly lurking...

Nora, I'd love to do that too. Maybe we should look for something of the sort in our area. That would be a fun thing to do together!

I look more rad than Lutheranism

Hey! When is he going to be back in VT? I can't go if he's not there!

He'll be back in a week -- were you going to be in Waterbury before then?

So, if we go to Vermont we can get yummy beer AND amazing food from Steph's brother? Is that right?

Totally. The Alchemist Pub and Brewery, Main St., Waterbury, VT.

I kind of love the Spam and PBR thing.

He's a redneck at heart.

Apropos of nothing, I want to learn how to make gnocchi. Nom nom nom.

He cooked potatoes, chilled them, put them through a ricer (or possibly put them through a ricer and THEN chilled them), mixed them with flour, [handwave handwave], rolled them into wee gnocchi, flung them into boiling water, and lo! pasta was born!

Or, gnom gnom gnom.

Step 1: Acquire ricer
Step 2: Prepare to make a lot of craptastic gnocchi
Step 3: Success!

He'll be back in a week -- were you going to be in Waterbury before then?

I am not sure when we are going to Waterbury, I just want to make sure that when we do, your brother will be there! (I may have panicked prematurely for no real reason) Our Vermont travelling plan sort of fell by the wayside when the Scotland thing came up. But, hey, we will still have vacation at the end of the month, and we DO have a nifty new car! So anything can happen, especially when good beer and good food is involved.

brillig

Last night was a bad night at Chez Neil. As Hubby put it, "the ghosts are crowding." He's been contemplating my old cat, wondering how much longer he'd been with us, which segued to him missing his old cat who died a couple of years ago and wondering if his refusal to admit how sick Mondu was led to Hubby not feeding him properly and making the poor old fur suffer. Then Hubby started scolding himself for feeling so upset for a "silly old cat who's been gone for years," and he started talking about all the people he's seen die or who he's had to pick up off the ground/highway/various places in his days as an ambulance tech.

So I got to hold him through an hour of grieving memories, and he had nightmares all night, and I'd put in a thirteen-hour day at work, and now I'm very, very tired.

My poor beloved needs to catch a break.
