I already know what I'm gonna call her. Got a name all picked out...

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

That's SailAweigh. I am daughterless.

RIGHT! When i was at the rollerderby conference over the weekend it was driving me crazy trying to remember which buffista daughter was in derby and where she might be from.

not your mom's socks.

He gives off such a creepy vibe that I don't want to deal with him in any way, but I'm not sure I want to piss him off, either, because ::creepy::.

Is THAT the national holiday you were talking about Sparky? Creepy Door Knocking Day? Jeesh. I send my spork from earlier to Ginger.

Love is stronger than death and harder than sorrow. Those who practice it are fierce like the light of stars traveling eons to pierce the night.

It comes down to people hearing the word "average" and assuming it's the mean average. Which quite a lot of people do.

I worked damn hard for the A in stats I got, and I do make that assumption. Actually it is more of an assumption that anyone using the median would specify that is what they are using, because after all, most people _do_ assume average=mean. Unless of course they are trying to be deceptive.

Ok, gluten-free people (I think there are some here), a friend at work has recently discovered that she needs to avoid gluten. She has also discovered that she does not enjoy breads and cereals made without gluten, so she is getting her fiber and carbs mostly from kidney beans and popcorn (she is really, really tired of potatoes, and getting there with the beans and corn). Any suggestions for some carbs/fiber variety? I suggested chick peas, and there's that spread that is made with them, the name I can't remember right now which is odd because I used to eat it all the time when i was a vegetarian.

hummus! Delicious hummus.

Also, you can do the same thing with white beans, chop up some sage, whizz with some olive oil...

Hummus. Nom nom nom. Andi, you might want to e Deena if she's not along quickly - I know she has had to make a fair number of gluten-free meals.

The TJ's olive hummus? To die for. Big chunks of green and black olives right in there. So tasty (if you like green and black olives, which I do).

Quinoa, WindSparrow! It's yummy hot or cold!

Suzi, v. sorry about the job, that would've been awesome. Any other fabulous opportunities out there? Espeically if your boss is supportive, that would kick ass.

I have a schedule for Seattle! Yay. And my bosses have all said "yes, of course we'll be references". Whew. Now I have to fill out an application, and figure out my salary, and make a pretty reference list, etc etc. Oy.
