not your mom's socks.

I called DH at work too - I know that's over the top, but we don't know any of our neighbors yet -

Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

It could just be he had to make a general check of some cable network interface, possibly for other subscribers.... do you live in a house or an apartment?

Still, if they need to talk to a customer, it should be their policy to call the customer and leave a message first.

it WAS them. Comcast support says they were around the neighborhood looking for problems with the boxes. And there's no way they can call ahead to notify. But DH says there's a scam going door-to-door checking water services - so I was ok to freak out a little. Am ok now.

btw - fastest way to get through comcast right now is to hit 'add new services for cable (#3 option) and then start asking the service person if you should call the cops.

ransacking boxes for Fernet. NOW.

Our wings are not tired.

If it was Comcast he should have a company vehicle. (My brother works for Comcast) They wouldn't have to call before checking outside stuff if they have a problem.

Yep - forgot to look streetside for a vehicle. His ID was flipped around, and I _almost_ opened the door to him without thinking, which freaks me out double.

eta - tommyrot: house. twin, actually.

Sorry for the firedrill, everyone! Thanks for the shoulder.

feh! That made me curious about looking up delay stats

by airline because it seems like Southwest hasn't been having the same kind of problems with delays as other airlines. And it looks like I'm right. They're not great but they've been on time for over 80% of flights vs. 72.65% for all reporting airlines.

From what I've read, this summer has been one of the worst on record for flight delays.
