Happy Birthday Trudy!

I think I may have to give up the caffeine again. Even half caf/half decaf is making me a jittery mess. But I love the coffee so.

Happy Birthday, Trudy!!

I hope that the medication works for at least a little while, ita.

Love those cat videos, Kristin!!

Since I'm sure you're all curious, it came out in 1906 (hence the ought-six part of its name), but became famous from use in WWI with the Springfield rifle by infantrymen.

If I remember my "Engineering Disasters" documentaries from History Channel right, the US infantry actually didn't use the Springfield rifle during WWI due to some bonehead in Washington realizing that they were better than anything anyone else had, so if they were taken from a dead doughboy, they would lose technological advantage. As a result, the US sent the boys over there with a vastly inferior POS rifle that blew up in their faces more than fired effective bullets into the Germans. The magazines had openings in them, allowing for dirt and mud to get into them and screwing up the bullet feed, and the recoil of the gun was known to shatter cheekbones. They had warehouses full of Springfields in the US getting rusty while they were using these things on the field.

You were a wrong baby who grew up wrong. The wrong kind of wrong. It's better you hear it from a friend.

Happy birthday Trudy!

Cats to become a rabbit should gather immediately now here

Yes, Trudy- have a wonderful year!

The second is a faux interview: Bobo: An Intimate Portrait.

I just laughed until I cried. "stupid fucking dog!" BWAH-HA-HA-HA!

I can't believe that, once again, I am Jesse, in that I think I look good in dark colors, not light colors, but I seem to be able to do Fall colors or winter colors, as long as they are, you know, dark. I just have to change my lipstick color from "toast" to "berry".

I never was able to get a good read on the Color me Beautiful thing because I have a weird color skin, getting weirder the older I get. I am really pale, but sort of olivey, not ivory. Which makes me suspect I am a Fall. But If I let my hair go dark, I get a lot of compliments on really electric colors, and red is one of my staples, so I do not know.

When I have pink hair I wear far more brightly coloured clothes than when I don't. Which seems a little counterintuitive, I know.

But I can only get away with orange when I'm not pink.

Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

Happy Birthday, Trudy!

ION,

If I remember my "Engineering Disasters" documentaries from History Channel right, the US infantry actually didn't use the Springfield rifle during WWI due to some bonehead in Washington realizing that they were better than anything anyone else had, so if they were taken from a dead doughboy, they would lose technological advantage. As a result, the US sent the boys over there with a vastly inferior POS rifle that blew up in their faces more than fired effective bullets into the Germans.

You're thinking of a machine gun the US had but didn't use. There was a French machine gun that was given to US troops instead, that had an open magazine that tended to get dirt in and jam like you said.
