If I want to become a cloud of bats, does each bat need a separate vaccination?

Yeah, I'ma have to come down on the side of "black goes with everything."

I can't do very much "color with color" with my hair without looking like I got dressed out of a bag of skittles. Black & grey are my friends.

"What kind of magical sunshine and lollipop world do you live in? Because you need to be medicated."-SFist

huh? That's just crazy.
You mean the no black thing? They also think that color with black "cheapens" both of them. Look at the blue/black photos in ita's link and specifically at the one with the brightest blue, I think that's a good illustration of the "cheap" concept.

It took a while to weed most of the black out of my wardrobe, and I still have black dress pants, but, since I started wearing color? Oodles of compliments. From random strangers. The thing I get the most compliments on is my aubergine (TM Hec) short trench. It took awhile to find a coat that wasn't black or brown or beige (thanks Century 21), but it was worth it.

Good luck at the ER, ita! Wishing you a good doc & some good drugs.

"I'm useless alone." // "We're all useless alone. It's a good thing you're not alone."

I've been trying to wear more color too, but honestly, if you took black out of the equation, I'd spend most days standing in my closet paralyzed with indecision.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

Are we counting brown in the "color with color" thing? Because otherwise, I'm sorry, but I'm not wearing a red shirt with orange pants. Or whatever. I guess it would help if I wore more patterns, but whatev.

Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

Because otherwise, I'm sorry, but I'm not wearing a red shirt with orange pants.

I take it that you have no desire to ever be a clown?

Compassionately intolerant

My entire wardrobe is black...and things that go with black.

While I quite like what I see on other people in terms of color-on-color, wearing more than one color when one is not black unsettles me. Along those lines, I can count the number of print shirts in my closet on one hand...literally. I have some print skirts, but they are all black-with-something except for one.

Print pants? NEVER on these vast hips.

The artist formerly associated with cupcakes.

Good luck, ita.

I'm sitting here giggling at the notion of not wearing black with colors. But then, I'm well aware that the people from either version of What Not To Wear would be very, very perplexed by me.

I think I'm just having a failure of imagination here.

This is why I like dresses.

Life moves pretty fast. You don't stop and look around once in a while, you could miss it.

I have added much more color since I moved out to California and want to add even more. I have dark and lighter green and navy blue pants and find many things go better with them than my standard black NYC uniform. My coral-colored shirts look kind of Halloween-y with black pants, but light and purty with my green ones.
