Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

I don't know whether or not Keira Knightly is anorexic or just thin. I vote for the latter, because that's one less person with a horrible disease.

Either way, sweetie, don't do this. Work with and not against your body.

Slightly related question: I need some cheap men's wifebeaters. Does Ross carry stuff like that? I'm not near a Target/Walmart/Kmart and department stores give me the hives.

I think so, but you could also order it from Target online.

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

My very next birthday falls on Emmett's! It's a bit silly, how pleased I am about this.

Cool! Next year you will share your birthday not only with Emmett, but John Coltrane (great jazz musician), Ray Charles (great soul singer), and Bruce Springsteen (great rock musician). Also Euripedes and Ani DiFranco.

How can anyone know for sure what Euripides' birthday was? That was at least 3 Western calendars ago (and also I suspect lunar, like Nilly's.)

Signed, woke up with my geek on.

'we all walk this earth feeling we are frauds. The trick is to be grateful and hope the caper doesn't end any time soon"

There could be an International Celebrate Euripides Birthday Holiday (Traditional) among playwrights or something, I suppose. Or if his birth coincided with some eclipse or other well-dated phenomenon. Otherwise, what flea said. :-)

Now I'm going to have to check Wikipedia, you know. First thing in the morning, too. :: harumphs ::

Aha! According to Wikipedia:

According to legend, Euripides was born in Salamís on September 23 480 BC, the day of the Persian War's greatest naval battle.

That doesn't mean their 9/23 was the same as ours (not surely) but if you observe the one occasion, you might as well observe the other.

I refreshed my memory on the Athenian Calendar, and yeah, not so much like ours: [link]

Also, since Sept. 23 is the traditional date of the battle of Salamis (in 480, the year Euripides was traditionally born), it's probably a concretion of famousness. (The year he was born is disputed, there's not really much known for sure about his life.)

However, not to take away from Yay Sept. 23 Emmett Nilly next year goodness!
