Happy Labo(u)r Day to North Americans, all.

So what is everyone up to today? Theo and Lee have inspired me to ask.

I, alas, must work. I have to plan out this semester a little more specifically, so I'm starting with September-October. Other than that, I'm just trying to stay cool.

Surfing B&N to order more books for my classroom, working on lesson plans for next week, getting quarters and doing laundry, mop kitchen floor, get 8 bazillion books off my bedroom floor and straighten my bedroom.

Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

I was cat-sitting at a friend's house, where I spent the night. The kitty is still a kitten, and very affectionate.

Today I'm supposed to set up a VPN for a friend's office. Previous attempts have failed, so we'll see how well I do today....

I should also do some cleaning and laundry. Can't decide if housework or VPN should come first, so I'm currently compromising and doing neither.

I did some illustrations for work earlier, and since it's overcast figure I'll go see Becoming Jane at the movies today. Also, maybe some painting later in the afternoon.

Days shrink and grow cold, sunlight through leaves is my song. Winter is long.

Art, Matt? Or home maintenance?

Theo, I'm apparently still insufficiently caffeinated, I read that you were sitting out on your potato. Re-reading provided a much more pleasant mental image.

I plan on reading and maybe shoehorning in some dvd-watchage. Soooo ambitious.

Also, hi. I haven't been in Natter for awhile. Did I use the right password at the door?

That man was going to shank me. Over an omelette. Two eggs and a slice of government cheese. Is that what my life is worth?

I got my grade book set up (now that my class rosters have finally somewhat settled) and organized my lesson plan book.

Oh! I also typed up the cast list for my first show. We had auditons W-F of last week.

This afternoon, I'm going to a barbecue.

Have fun at the BBQ, ChiKat!

Lee, watch for me too--there may be a quiz.

"Cry havoc and let slip the boobs of war!" -- Miracleman

Well, I realized last night when I went to bed that I had left my flatiron on all day (about 12 hours) sitting on my bed, and it had burned my sheets, but luckily not burned down my house. I suspect the fact that there was a fan blowing on it probably kept the bed from going up.

Eek, Vortex. I'm glad nothing happened.
