Erin! Glad to see you back, glad that the finances are doing better!
Consuela, I'm glad to hear that the news about your Mom is encouraging, I'm betting that just getting the dehydration under control is going to have her feeling much better. And that dog looks adorable and smart!
About the only really useful thing I've done today is update Quicken -- yay for still having money!
today I spent 45 minutes looking for the used book store. Crazy. but all on line maps are wrong - it is in a new commercial area - and all the store sign are randomly placed around the developed area. Thank goodness I showered, emptied the cat boxes and swept the office before breakfast, otherwise I might feel like I wasted a lot of the morning.
sending the ma ~~ to your mother Consuela
so blown in insulation - what about the rumors I hear that it can add to the possibility of mold
One of the reasons I don't have vinyl siding is the fear that mold will set up housekeeping underneath it, where I can't see it. But then I'm in a damper area compared to CA.
I made it to VA and am now hanging with my friend, D, (he has his laptop, too) while watching the movie
Blade,
which I have never seen before, and catching up here. We're going to go out to see actual other people tonight. Another friend's b-day dinner. Easy trip down, but, my god, there are some stupid drivers on the road. Not that that's news. Anyway.
Beautiful dog, Consuela. I hope you adore each other on sight. Continued -ma to your ma.
ETA: And, yay, Erin!!
eek! Today has been a stress monkey so far. Franny has a broken finger. And a birthday party tomorrow. YIPES!
Burrell, I met the principal at the middle school you went to and live by today, which is one of the schools I'll be working at.
Yay, I'll get to see more of you!
I'm a little afraid. I didn't realize there was a tunnel that ran under the street and teh campus was bisected.
Yeah, tunnel is scary. It's the official bomb shelter for the whole neighborhood.
It reminds me of the Crosswalk Prank which is adorable.
That was pretty cute, esp liked the music.
Okay, I better get running if I'm going to get to Vromans. What a day!
Poor Franny!
Suela - that is a lovely dog. When will you get to meet her?
I turned on the tennis and I must say that the sound that they play when they go back and forth from relay? That bizarre cylonic hum? Extra annoying.
She's gorgeous, Suela (and looks all Shepherd to me, but then I'm a certified GSD nut). I hope it's love at first sight!
Aw, Franny. Hope it feels better very soon.
Poor Franny! I hope she gets some fun colored splints or cast covers.
I had a first this afternoon. Driving home from running errands, I inhaled a bug or speck of dust or SOMETHING and it started me coughing uncontrollably and I had no water with me. Had to pull over, it was so bad. And then I threw up in a plastic bag.
Tabouli is nasty on repeat.
Not really that much fun. OTOH, even though it's sort of a rough area, 3 people stopped at different times to ask if I was ok as I tried to catch my breath again.
I hate my stupid gag reflex.
Theo - mac's foot is doing pretty good. He hops about the house and scoots on his bottom. He is not to put any pressure on the foot until it is out of the cast, 10 more days. we are in count-down mode here.
I just got back from 5.5 hours of tennis at the Open. God that was good tennis. Big day for 18 year olds. 2 big wins and one tight match that ended in loss.
mac was treated to 2 museums and a zoo with a friend of mine and her roommate.
Now a Nature episode on PBS about Chasing Big Cats. Since lions are mac's favorite animal AND this is Africa. He is really enjoying it.
