I'm sorry about your mother, Consuela. I hope she has a swift recovery.

We are Buffistas. This isn't our first apocalypse. -- Pix

Thanks, folks. I managed to speak with her briefly, and my sister called my dad. We're sending flowers. Basically she's had very bad intestinal distress for the last several weeks, and she got dehydrated. It's possibly related to the pain medication she's on for the herniated disk, so there's some hope that correcting the second may help with the first.

I'll call her again tomorrow, and hopefully there will be better news.

Why did Darth Vader cross the road? To get to the Dark Side!

I'm so sorry, Suela.

egad, the heat wiped me out. I am tired and my tummy aches. And my son won't go to sleep--silly boy! He keeps getting out of bed. At this rate, I'm going to just take him into my bed and go to sleep for the night.

Do I need to worry about additional barbecue goods?

paperdol, K bought a cinnamon creme cake for you so you'll have that too!

Burrell, I met the principal at the middle school you went to and live by today, which is one of the schools I'll be working at. I'm a little afraid. I didn't realize there was a tunnel that ran under the street and teh campus was bisected. It reminds me of the Crosswalk Prank which is adorable.

It reminds me of the Crosswalk Prank which is adorable.

Heh. That's clever.

Happy weekends, all. I'm (almost) outta here...

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

Wow -- I think that 'prank' is so obnoxious. And I don't understand why none of the drivers just started inching forward -- car always wins in car vs. pedestrian. Possibly because I live in a place where there is often a never-ending stream of pedestrians.

Suela, I hope your mom gets better.

Why is my body convinced that 4 hours of sleep is enough?

It's really not.
