I do believe in killing the messenger, you know why? Because it sends a message. ~ Damon Salvatore

I gave Joss a copy of Vampire People, he said to sign it so I did. And then he walked off carrying it cover-out while getting his pic taken with fans.

Maybe he'll remember your name now. Free publicity! It's good.

Chapeau is a turn-taking game that we are convinced that Colin made up.

Zen, it is, from what I have discerned, a race to not be the last person to post a ^ or, in real life, tent your hands over your head (like a little hat, see...) once someone starts it. Any deeper meaning, I don't know.

ETA: So I don't always discern exactly right. Kinda close!

Sometimes I think I might just move up to Vermont, open a bookstore or a vegan restaurant. Adam Schlesinger, z''l

Huh. At a summer job a few years ago, we had something like that called "The Nose Knows." Last person to touch his or her nose lost. (Generally used when we were doing something like going out to dinner, and we were all doing the "You decide," "No, you decide," "Well, I don't have any ideas, do you?" "I don't know" thing, and whoever lost was appointed to make all the decisions until we got to wherever we were going.)

If you're going through hell/keep on going/don't slow down/keep your fear from showing/you might be gone/'fore the devil even knows you're there

Yeah, the 'touch your nose' thing is a kind of silent "not it!" IME. I know not of the chapeau.

So I finally read Allyson's book today. And it was great fun! Yay Allyson! I got all verklempt over Nilly's story, and "Safe Harbor from Ann Arbor".

I was a bit annoyed that the Oakland B&N didn't have it out on the tables in front, only in the humor section--but it was easy enough to find there.
