The more I learn, the more I realize how little I know.

Flickr doesn't do video, so I've posted some pix from the KC airshow on Photobucket: [link]

It was a nice day, not too hot, with a little breeze. The Harriers really stole the show. This was the first time I've ever seen (or heard) one up close.

Now tagless for your comfort.

Ooh, Cashmere - you're going to Hawaii? That sounds exciting!

Yup! Less than two weeks to go. Kids are staying with my sister.

Woe to the fucking wicked.

How is it that I can get FX just fine, but BBCA cuts in and out? I swear Comcast hates the British.

Pantsy Arse-fuckers.

See? I gave everybody here an opportunity to tell me what a bad person I am and nobody did, because I fuckin' rule.

Oh, fuck. My dad called a little while ago -- one of my cousins (we're not super close, but they're all pretty nice people, and this one threw a baby shower for Matilda and me about a year ago) is getting divorced. Three kids, one entering high school and twins in grade school, and they're all moving in with her parents at her old childhood house in the East Bay. Which is sad, but not the worst part; the worst part is that her soon-to-be-ex is an Orthodox priest, and she found out he'd been cheating on her with at least one member of the congregation, and he's now resigning from the priesthood and there's an article in the local paper and it's not just sad, it's gonna be a big public mess. Fuck fuck fuck. Their poor kids! Poor her! Shit, I don't know who to feel worse for. And I want to punch him in the head. A lot.

Woe to the fucking wicked.

What an awful situation. And he's clearly in need of at least a punching in the head, which would actually be getting off light.

Coping-ma to the family.

"You can't put a price on the joy of not giving a shit." -Zenkitty

Because shrift is the ID of fandom. It's like popping the hood on the whole scene.

Oh, I don't know about that. I might be the id of perhaps one in every twenty fandoms, although I think I'm far less id-driven than a lot of other people. If you want the true id, you should look at any number of open-membership livejournal communities. And once your brain tries to escape through the back of your skull, I think you'll appreciate that I'm raising the intelligence of average discussion by eleventy billion percent.

So come, my friends, be not afraid/We are so lightly here/It is in love that we are made; In love we disappear

Yeah. Shrift's most certainly not the id.

She may, however, be the cool, slinky reptile trying to sell you apples.

Also, separated, JZ, that's awful. Gah.

The feeling you get when your brain finally lets your heart get in its pants.

That is awful, JZ. I hope they can rescue some semblance of normal.

It's five thousand for kissing, ten thousand for snuggling... End of list.

What is an adjective that means "writing-wise"? For the sentence, "X helped me with my style, both [word] and sartorial."
