'Day' is a vestigial mode of time measurement based on solar cycles. It's not applicable. I didn't get you anything.

Robin, it's got to be nice to see it come together, sweatiness and all.

Well, that was fun!

From the time I posted until about 2 minutes ago, it was incredibly loud. A strike every couple of seconds, at minimum. Some were so close my body registered the shock before my brain did (close enough you hear the sizzle before the crack, even!) Haven't had that experience in a while. Given the fire engine sirens I'm hearing grind to a close nearby, a couple somethings took a solid hit.

Of course, I was out on the balcony the whole time. Only considered coming in once or twice...

Awesome.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

On the up side, the old kitchen floor is almost all up, whihc is very exciting and I am taking our houseguest to see Bourne Ultimatum tonight.

Yay up side!

Here's what I hate about current "game shows" -- I just saw somewhere where Power of 10 is taped at the studio by my house, so I thought I'd check out the audition process. There's no auditions -- you have to send in a tape that reflects your quirky personality and hobbies and bullshit.

"I remember when they eventually introduced that drug kingpin who murdered people and smuggled drugs inside snakes and I was like 'Finally. A normal person.'” —RahvinDragand

Why the fuck would I even need to dream about members of Fall Out Boy and My Chemical Romance?! Huh? Because I looked at her stupid picspacm, that's why.

Count your blessings, you could have gotten my making-out-with-Halle-Berry-at-the-Nascar-track dream from a few weeks ago. And believe me, the disturbing fact that she was Halle Berry would have translated even though the kissing a girl aspect wouldn't.

Now tagless for your comfort.

Matt's subconscious is a freaky place.

I prefer Mac's version of Itsy Bitsy Spider. Let's call it "Die, Bitsy Spider, Die!"

Owen has new Buzz Lightyear shoes for preschool and Liv has new, baby Skechers. I got a pair of white shorts for Hawaii and some tank tops.

sarameg sounds like she lives in my neighborhood. The thunder is incredible just now. Bartleby is actually trembling...which is not his way. Not sure what to do for him.

Art Crawl!!!

Ooh, Cashmere - you're going to Hawaii? That sounds exciting!

I would love to have a dream about the MCR boys. Please.

Yay, Eastern Market!

I got new pillows and a Brita water filter this weekend. Am now drinking Britaed water with fresh lemon juice and a little Splenda. It's like super subtle lemonade. Yum.

Every now and then, I think I might actually be a little odd.

Poor Bartleby. Beej, can you distract him with a familiar game? Let him know everything's normal and OK despite the noise? I think giving extra-special attention when they're scared just reinforces, in their minds, that there's really something to be scared of.

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

Why on earth did you look at her picspam?

Because shrift is the ID of fandom. It's like popping the hood on the whole scene.

Definitely this.

I tried just leaving my hand on him, moving his 'basket' (squishy bed) near me while I used the computer, climbing into my bed like we were going to take a nap and just ignoring the issue.

Nothing really worked.

During a break in the storm, we went for an around the block and he seems better now...but the thunder is starting up again.

I think just going to bed (him in his crate) is the best plan.

So much for that drought we were having.
