I remember the crazy days. 500 posts an hour. Nubmer! Natgbsb

I have very good friends who think the funnest thing in the world is to pick fruit, make jam or pies, and then bring some back to the person who's yard provided the fruit.

those are the best kind of friends.

"Mister Spock is on his fanny, sir. Reports heavy damage."

Tonight I made my very first pie ever!

Congratulations! Welcome to the cult.

It was blueberry and it tastes pretty good. The only thing is that the blueberries were pretty runny once they baked and the bottom crust is just a soggy blue mess.

I think that's a common problem with blueberry pies. Did you use a lot of cornstarch? (My problem, with apple pies, is an allegiance to juicy apples, which inevitably means the juices overflow the crust and go running everywhere.)

The artist formerly associated with cupcakes.

The friend in question is also the one who will turn up at my house, announce she's the Latke Fairy, and then take over my kitchen to make latkes. At the gothy yard sale this Sunday, she's planning on selling homemade treats and jars of jam and pickles.

"It didn't taste good. It tasted soooo horrible. It tasted like....a vodka martini." - Matilda

I had no idea until this moment that what is lacking in my life is a latke fairy.

Now let us crush something soft and watch it fountain blood. That is a girlish thing to want to do, yes?

Latke Fairy

OMG where can I get one?

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

I could make my pork with apples

See, all I'm thinking is that you make pork with pigs, not with apples. But I'm much better now.

Just watched the middle episodes of Kill Point. What a weird-assed show. The grammar nitpickiness is odd, as is the black SWAT guy that gets one gibberish existential speech per episode. I hope he gets to fire his weapon. And I figure that Dish TV gave them some money, because the logo's on a dish on just about every rooftop.

They call the next episode the season finale. It'll be odd for it not to also be a series finale, but I guess the NKOTB could have other cases for us to follow. Leaves me in the same sort of wonderment as Damages (must check how much of that is left) and Thief.

The only one I know is in Seattle.

brillig

This week's run of Unshelved has taken a very Buffistaesque turn. The following strip doesn't seem like much, but you must read it to make sense of the rest.

All sorrows can be borne if you put them into a story. Tell me a story.

Aw. My parents just called to make sure the storm didn't get me.

This is kinda cool. [link]
