Sweet lumpy minion, you're the only one that understands. Probably 'cause I haven't sucked the brain out of you yet.

Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

The second one has to be wrong, though.

Probably. But that's how everyone pronounces it, though.

Why did Darth Vader cross the road? To get to the Dark Side!

I'm going to live the rest of my life in suspense about Burrell's commute.

::cue evil laugh::

bwah ha ha ha!

Okay, for you, I will cave. If you don't count the daycare drop-off, it's 15 to 30 minutes.

Los Feliz. Loss FEELiz, for those not from these parts

Wow. OK, that makes another one I had wrong.

Waukesha?

I've only ever heard it "WAW-keh-shaw."

Los Feliz trips me every time, and I've lived in CA for ten years now.

... shit, ten years. How'd that happen? When I started posting on TT I was still in Bawlmer.

Wait, really? I got it right, or that's how everyone pronounces it except the people who live there?

The status is NOT quo.

KUH-wheng-uh.

Nope, Jen basically had it right: kuh-WHENG-guh.

Most of the wonky pronounciations in So Cal have to do with the weird bastardization of Spanish. When I was in Washington I couldn't even guess how to pronounce a lot of the place names. Didn't fit my mispronounce-the-Spanish profile.

Yeah, everyone who lives in or near Shawano pronounces it that way. People who pronounce it the way it's spelled get made fun of.

Wow, I'm suddenly filled with rage. Some assholes on one of the Wired blogs are bad-mouthing my big brother.

Grrrr. Must not reply.
