I have one of those storage benches right by the door, so the shoes go in there.

Or rather, they go on the floor by the door until the clutter starts to bother me and then all get crammed inside.

But in theory they live in the bench by the door.

Yeah, as a percentage of incomes, LA's curve is all whacked out. I think we also have a fairly large percentage of people in the city who work non-standard jobs and hours, thus their commutes are not necessarily during the worst of rush hour. Also, while not as useful as public transportation in some other cities, our public transportation here is still pretty extensive.

For public tranportation reasons alone, I was very much NOT expecting NYC to be on the list (which it wasn't, of course).
