Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

Any time! Or, ASAP before my place gets bad again.

I can't tell if I'm doing something wrong, because my same old cable service is now filling up the whole screen, but the picture doesn't look stretched out. Maybe it is anyway. Eh.

Also, I cannot for the life of me get the cable remote to turn the TV on and off. Time Warner offered me three codes, none of which seem to work.

Crap. I was supposed to do laundry today. Yeah, that's not going to happen. Maybe I'll do a load tomorrow after work.

Why did Darth Vader cross the road? To get to the Dark Side!

Egad, I have tv envy. I haven't had tv envy in forever, not because I have a nice tv or anything (ours is a dinosaur). But now I want a new one. TV however will have to wait until after the new oven, the much-hoped-for dishwasher, and the bunk beds.

Homeownership is one big money sink.

I just went nutty. In my head, flat-screen TVs were a grand, so I would never get one, but this one was less than half that. And my old TV sometimes wouldn't turn on. It worked fine when it was on, but still.

Tom, should I not bother trying to sell it, do you think?

Also, my oven door doesn't close all the way and I have no dishwasher.

My oven doesn't work, period (we use the convection/microwave instead). Oh wait, you've never seen my kitchen. If you did, you'd understand. It is deeply in need of a remodel. My mom wanted to get it remodeled when they first moved in 40+ years ago. She never got her wish. I feel it is my daughterly duty to see it through.

Oh dear. That does sound extreme and higher-priority than a TV.

"I remember when they eventually introduced that drug kingpin who murdered people and smuggled drugs inside snakes and I was like 'Finally. A normal person.'” —RahvinDragand

Despite getting off to a migraine-y bad start, this weekend seems to be shaping up. Today I cleaned the worst horrors off my kitchen floor, did grocery shopping, washed dishes, and ended my own six-week dry spell at the same time that the weather did likewise.

I'm terrifically busy with my ennui.

Dean's projected path now completely excludes Texas. I'm selfishly grateful (and still wary). I hope Jamaica makes it through okay.

I bought my tv fromm a rental place 9 years ago for $40. It had an episode of psycho turning on, and then the time the contrast just came on wrong, but it seems to have gotten over itself. So I'll wait a little longer. And get snitty about how expensive tvs are when really, the problem is I'm cheap.

I have grocery shopped, baked 5+ dozen cookies and cleaned. Once again I timed it so I would be starving and waiting for the floor to dry. And have no idea what I want for dinner.

Oh well.
