Getting back to this topic, for a moment, granted we live in a Spanish speaking place, but Ellie mixes Spanish and English all the time - aguamelon (my current favorite), mas apples, aqui baby, and so on. Thankfully, everyone here understands here but it always throws people when we are back in the US.

It was seriously just two inches of rain about 7 this morning, but it completely fucked up all public transit.
Thankfully, everyone here understands here but it always throws people when we are back in the US.
Wouldn't throw people in S. Florida. I find the mixed language thing fun. A lot of parents don't want their kids speaking anything other than English. They go through this big effort to not teach their children Spanish/Creole/Whatever. Like the kids aren't going to pick it up from all the adults around them.
