"Faded like the lilac, he thought."

It's kinda nifty, innit? What with the support system and the electronic umbilical cord and the cherry pajamas. It's made of awesome.

It's too bad we're all axe-murdering pedophiles, or this'd be a real nice story.

Now, go to sleep, ita.

My blood is still all over the floor

I can attest to this. It would make a kinda cool pattern for a carpet if its genesis weren't so disturbing.

I came home and tripped the dog with Noah's oxygen line. oops. It freaked him out and he tripped again on his way back in the house.

Actual conversation that just took place.

Me: "I'll pay you to do the 2:30 feeding."

K: "Oh yeah? How much?"

Me: "$20"

K: "The $20 I owe you from a while ago when you did the 2:30 feeding for me? I'd rather owe you."

HARSH.

I am wearing strawberry pajamas in the same vein but a totally different pattern than the cherry ones. They make me happy.

Our wings are not tired

I'm sorry it's been such a rough 24 hours ita.

I'm thinking the LAistas need to start turning up in shifts to make sure the hospital takes care of you. If you need us to arrange to be there in shifts to act as a rotating gang of patient advocates we could do that too.

The status is NOT quo.

YAY for cherry pjs and for Kat and for pain meds.

This.

That's what we're here for, ita. Just wish I could do more.

And this.

I'm thinking the LAistas need to start turning up in shifts to make sure the hospital takes care of you. If you need us to arrange to be there in shifts to act as a rotating gang of patient advocates we could do that too.

Also very much this.

Kat, when you get back, B says thank you.

Also, tell B, no problem. But he needs to answer his email with your whereabouts quicker. Not that I could have gotten there faster.

Oof, okay, going to nap and wake up in 3 hours.

"I remember when they eventually introduced that drug kingpin who murdered people and smuggled drugs inside snakes and I was like 'Finally. A normal person.'” —RahvinDragand

It's too bad we're all axe-murdering pedophiles, or this'd be a real nice story.

I think the axe-murdering aspect might come in handy with the folks at this hospital, from the sound of it. Would that the staff could have shared ita's Happy Fun Migraine until they got their act together and did something about it.

Delayed sushi craving was satisfied tonight. The new-to-me place I wanted to try has really excellent sushi, though I was surprised at first by the caucasian women sushi chefs. Also, I now know where to take any lesbian friends that visit Memphis for a night on the town, as I was the only womb-challenged person in evidence. I'll have to watch what I order when I return—the nigiri was served as single pieces rather than the customary two per order and even the California rolls (I didn't get one, but it seems like the basic standard for comparison) were a bit pricey. But you at least get great flavor and presentation for your $ if not filling quantity, and the place has great atmosphere and decor.

Swouncing

Skippity-and-head-pokity to post that, according to the Buffista Calendar, today is Katerina Bee's birthday.

Happy birthday, Katerina! With lots of wishes for a great day and a wonderful year.

It's also Ms. Havisham's birthday. I haven't seen posts from her in forever, but I hope the well-wishes find their way to her, somehow.

And then Ortus came and said "It's Ortin' time" and they all Orted off into the sunset

"The $20 I owe you from a while ago when you did the 2:30 feeding for me? I'd rather owe you."

I gotta say, I'm with her. 2:30 feedings are Teh Suck. (And, oy, I just noticed the pun. Shoot me now...)

ita, I can't believe you've been in the hospital and still in pain for this long. I'm glad the LAistas are taking care of you even if the doctors aren't.

NYC is in the middle of what I can only assume is a second Biblical flood. I'd already noticed it was raining and closed all the windows at 5 am today after D's second night feeding, but I'd left them open a tiny crack to let some air in (because it's supposed to be over 100 today). Then about half an hour ago I was standing in the kitchen making breakfast, and in the time it took me to glance out the window and think "Wow, it's really coming down out there," the storm turned itself up to eleven and suddenly I was DRENCHED and there was a small lake where my dining room used to be.

Fortunately, the same thing happened in the bedroom, so DH was awake to help me mop up and calm D down. It's 7 now, and still pitch black and raining down buckets outside. I hope we have at least one towel left to shower with -- most of them are on the floors and/or windowsills right now, headed for the laundry.

Aaaaaand I just saw on LJ that all five boroughs are currently under a tornado warning. Did someone schedule an apocalypse and forget to tell me?

Now tagless for your comfort.

I hope ita was able to get some sleep and that today is better.

Happy Birthday Katie Bee and Mrs. Havisham!

I wish I had been around for paperdol's interview with someone that gets it.

It's kinda nifty, innit? What with the support system and the electronic umbilical cord and the cherry pajamas. It's made of awesome.

So. Very. Nifty.
