Spike: We got a history, him and me. Fred: What? Spike: It was a long time ago. He was a young Watcher, fresh out of the academy when we crossed paths. It was a, what-you-call battle of wills and blood was spilled. Vendettas were sworn. It was a whole-- Fred: My God you're so full of crap. Spike: Yeah. Okay.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

So, I bought a watch today that is completely unlike any watch I've ever had before. I can't find it online -- I think she said they had just gotten it in that day. It's bronze-colored, metal band, crystals (but they're bronze-ish, too), and I can't decide if it's too flashy or something. Could I wear it tomorrow and still return it if need be?

Edit: No, no I can't. I think it will be OK. If not, I am rich enough to buy another watch!

Ann, that's a ferret.

Hi, Callaluna!

In other news, must request kitty~ma again. Teddy's kidney values are getting worse (though his red blood cell count is up), and he's in the hospital for a few days going through another round of IV fluids. (I'll be able to get him out for a while tomorrow afternoon, but only so he can go to an appointment at the holistic vet for acupuncture.)

If the IV fluids stabilize things, we get to make more decisions. Most of which we're reluctant to try because they involve lengthy or multiple trips to the University of Pennsylvania, general anesthesia on a kitty whose condition makes general anesthesia inadvisable, or all of the above.

Poor Teddy. May it all turn out okay with minimally invasive procedures.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

Oy. Simplicity for Teddy.

Okay, these people are making up for paying me no mind this morning by throwing all sorts of drugs in varying syncopated rhythms at me.

I'm going to need to have my meds explained to me so I can have the friend make the note.

And damn if dilaudid doesn't make me itch like nobody's business.

And they're being nice--my apology to the day nurse was rebuffed, and she offered to go home and get PJs for me. I'm in the same clothes I taught in last night.

Jesus, ita. Is there anything I can do for you? I hate not being able to help.

Christ, ita, you're still there? I'm sorry.

That man was going to shank me. Over an omelette. Two eggs and a slice of government cheese. Is that what my life is worth?

Has your pain at least decreased, ita?

random question

if you have had an exterminator come, have they made you empty ALL of the drawers if you have builtins? They want us to empty all of the bedroom and hallway closets, in addition to all of the kitchen cabinets (which is done! yay me!). I just can't. I'm too tired.
