Hmm. It's sounds like the finest party I can imagine getting paid to go to.

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

ION, I am hot and sweaty and gross.

I've seen you sweaty and it wasn't gross.

"Faded like the lilac, he thought."

Callaluna! Yay! How exciting! Glad to hear from you, and yup, we're all thrilled about the book.

Over here in Arizona, we're building a house, theoretically, and otherwise thriving in the desert.

Now let us crush something soft and watch it fountain blood. That is a girlish thing to want to do, yes?

Luna, my beloved! SMOOCH!

The baby Matilda is cute and 10 months.

Knew that. Just looked at pics of her online last week. It made my ovaries hurt.

Emmett hit a grand slam in the District championship game.

Knew that too. Sumi keeps me very well informed, she's my own personal Nilly! She sent me the article.

I think you should invite two more people so you'll have 255 invited.

K, ita, you're invited, with a guest. Maybe you could bring the psych guy? ;)

Callaluna! What a cool name change!

Thanks! Its less cool once you know that its actually a misspelling that I decided I liked. Was supposed to be Calluna (as in Calluna Vulgaris, the Latin name for the Heather flower), but somewhere along the line (ages ago), I learned an incorrect spelling, and now I like it. Had a great aunt named Calla, and I've always loved the name Luna. So there you go.

Jz, best of luck with the job hunting. I wish I was job hunting. But I'm not, for reasons that tie into that whole money discussion y'all were having before I arrived. They pay me well, and I don't want to go back to the days when I was always worrying about how to pay the rent. I'd rather be a corporate whore than go through that again!

My dress is here, except mine is ivory instead of white. It was cheap as hell and I adore it. My intended is the same guy I've been with for ages - we're getting married on the 5 year anniversary of the day we met. He's a crazy workaholic just like me. He loves me and he makes me feel safe. He's sometimes infuriating. Oh, and he's cute.

Fandom means never having to say "But where would I wear that?"

Timelies all!

Hi Callaluna!

I'm not sure I really have a financial downfall. Books would be the closest, as I tend to buy binge-style, but not every month.(I'm about to place an order with the closest mystery bookstore to me, which will probably be up around $100 or so, but I haven't bought from them since May.)

See? I gave everybody here an opportunity to tell me what a bad person I am and nobody did, because I fuckin' rule.

I'd rather be a corporate whore than go through that again!

Corporate whore is exactly what I'm looking for. Except that I keep flinching away from applying for craigslist ads for gigantor real estate management firms and financial advisors' offices, because I'm afraid my total lack of interest would kill me at the interview. But, really, if they paid me enough I'd be happy to pretend to be interested.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

That is a lovely dress, Callaluna. Let me go kidnap psych guy, and we'll be right over.

My verbosity is probably at a temporary end for two reasons: meds, and meds. Looks like one reason, but it's tricksy. I have a PCA¹ on my left, jacked into my right hand. And she had me pump a test dose to make sure I got it.

Oh, I got it. Better text my ride to tell him my brain is leaving.

¹: Patient controlled analgesia.

Wow, Liese, that is so exciting!!! We daydream about buying a house, but we never even let ourselves daydream about building one. I'm guessing from the word "theoretically" that it hasn't been without its ups and downs?

AMYCH!!!!!!! HI!!! Man, I miss you. I miss being able to hang out with you IRL! Where are you now, anyway? I seem to recall you moved. The evil company continues to hint that they'd love for me to move back to NC and work out of the office, but I certainly don't want to move closer to those bloodsucking fiends. They'd chain me to a desk and I'd never be heard from again. Working at home sucks, but at least I can do it in my pajamas.

Oh, question. Am I allowed to know who Paperdol is, or is it a top secret name change? My profile addy is good if someone wants to let me know. I'm confused. I have a suspect in mind, of course, but if its who I think it is, I wonder what the story is behind the name change.

I’d be lying if I didn’t say that I miss them all tonight…

I keep flinching away from applying for craigslist ads for gigantor real estate management firms and financial advisors' offices, because I'm afraid my total lack of interest would kill me at the interview. But, really, if they paid me enough I'd be happy to pretend to be interested.

I'd avoid the real estate at all costs, but anything else? A lot of places tend to be happy to see someone who prefers to be the minion and who won't be jumping from place to place just to get ahead. Admit you don't know about the field but you're happy to learn (you just love learning, right?), and you're gold.

Aww, sweetie, I miss you too! We're still in D-town, but a couple of miles down the road from where we were - near Northgate, more or less due north of downtown. You should come and play and not tell the bloodsuckers that you're anywhere near office range!
