I keep flinching away from applying for craigslist ads for gigantor real estate management firms and financial advisors' offices, because I'm afraid my total lack of interest would kill me at the interview. But, really, if they paid me enough I'd be happy to pretend to be interested.
I'd avoid the real estate at all costs, but anything else? A lot of places tend to be happy to see someone who prefers to be the minion and who won't be jumping from place to place just to get ahead. Admit you don't know about the field but you're happy to learn (you just love learning, right?), and you're gold.
Aww, sweetie, I miss you too! We're still in D-town, but a couple of miles down the road from where we were - near Northgate, more or less due north of downtown. You should come and play and not tell the bloodsuckers that you're anywhere near office range!
I've seen you sweaty and it wasn't gross.
Awww, that's sweet.
Callaluna, that dress is beautiful!
ita, I really hope your PCA gives you quick relief. You've been dicked around way too long.
Hi, Callaluna! Love the name. The other day I saw a bracelet that said "Corporate Whore" and I almost bought it. I'd wear it to work too. Also, gorgeous dress!
ita, pain meds at last! I hope you get some lasting relief this time.
Financial downfalls... Definitely books, though I've learned to control it. I just don't go into a bookstore unless I am prepared to spend $75. Lately, wedding crap. I've given up on the budget, lately its been more like "I don't care what it costs, I just want to buy it so I can cross it off my list!"
That's it, really. I am pretty well behaved with my money, most of the time. I still shop as therapy, but I'm a bargain hunter, and I tend to buy practical, useful things, so it isn't awful.
I feel like I should play a lullaby for ita.
Callaluna, the answer to your question is in the second paragraph of your first post.
t /cryptic
Callaluna (hi! hi! hi!!!!!!), paperdol changed her name due to writing a book and wanting a veneer of anonymity. In fact, you mentioned the book a few posts back.
Need more hints?

This. juliana is wise. I worked in a real estate firm for awhile and it was a conservative boys' club. It was the place where I was required to wear skirts/hose/heels. Financial places can be just as conservative, so be aware of the work environment you like or no. I temped for accounting firms and brokerage firms and hated them both. I also temped for a bank that was okay.
I'm guessing from the word "theoretically" that it hasn't been without its ups and downs?
You got it! Right now we're waiting (and waiting and waiting) for word to come back from the appraiser, whereupon the bank will do its thing and our loan app will go to underwriting. Once it's all through the process will probably be quick, but until then, we wait.
