Cat came back! I had a feeling he was close by under a bush but was afraid I was deluding myself.
Man, not the funnest Sunday ever.
Fortunately, he came back in time for a) me to give him his shot close to when I would have anyway so his insulin schedule isn't all effed up and b) me to go out to dinner w/ my friend. I don't know where we are going but there will be alcoholic drinks involved for sure.
Oh, thank goodness, lisah! I'd have been so panicky!
Yay kitty-come-back-ishness!
Have folks heard the Old 97's song "Murder (or a Heart Attack)"? It's about when the songwriter lost his cat. (His cat came back too.)
A good song to play to celebrate.
::finds song on iPod::
He was just testing to see if you cared. :-)
Ah, there's the neighbor's yapping dog. Knew the stillness was too good to last....
lisah, I'm glad he came home!
Dinner tonight was French toast made with leftover challah bread. Topped with sliced strawberries, blueberries and bananas. With a choice of whipped cream, powdered sugar or syrup.
My kids looked at me like I'm being inhabited by an alien parasite, probably thinking, "Whipped cream for supper? What have you done with our REAL mommy?"
YAY for the return of the Kitty!
Did anyone watch the Masters of Science Fiction on ABC last night?
And the hole
In the screen is barely big enough for you
And not near enough for me to go
And the whole damn complicated
Situation could've been
Avoided if I'd only shut the window
CHORUS:
And I may be leavin' myself open
To a murder or a heart attack
But I'm leavin' the back door open
'Til you come back, 'til you come back
And I may be movin' myself closer
To a real untimely end
But I'm leavin' the back door open
'Til you come home again, 'til you come home again
And I told
The neighbors, I put pictures up
And handed out some flyers at the show
And the whole town speculating
Situation could've been
Avoided if I'd only shut the window
CHORUS
REPEAT CHORUS
lisah, so glad your kitty returned. It's especially scary when they have health issues. I have a Labrador retriever with diabetes and Cushing's disease. She's on insulin 2x/day. I had a medic alert dog tag made for her.
Kitty came back! Happiness!
Kitties are so frustrating. Hubby's cat escaped after our next to last move. We had moved next to the busy train yard, which is terrifying for any right-thinking small critter. Everyone kept saying, "Oh, he's gone home," but I couldn't believe it, as prevoius home was two miles away across several busy highway/streets. Two weeks later, though, to make an overwrought Hubby happy, we drove past our old place, stopped and called. And we heard a tired little meow of "Where the hell have you been?" I was utterly flabbergasted.
Fast forward six months, we're moving again, again a few miles away. Shadow sneaks off again, to Hubby's great dismay. But a couple of hours later, as we're trying to think if he cared enough to go back to the last place or if he'd go back to the place before, he comes trotting up the driveway. He likes his new neighborhood quite a bit.
Stupid, Hubby-upsetting cat.
