If you're going through hell/keep on going/don't slow down/keep your fear from showing/you might be gone/'fore the devil even knows you're there

Not to question the recipe, but wouldn't the cornmeal be kind of gritty with only that much liquid and no soaking time? Maybe if you mix in a smurf?

You may file this away in "Trivia I'll probably never need unless my cousin is drunk at a bar with the 2006-07 Ute's schedule posted."

Done.

Life moves pretty fast. You don't stop and look around once in a while, you could miss it.

Kat--soon I must celebrate your birthday with you and K and Noah. I mean, I need to meet him before he starts driving and stuff.

Next week is good--the week after that, Jason is away and I will have dog duty.

That man was going to shank me. Over an omelette. Two eggs and a slice of government cheese. Is that what my life is worth?

My mom makes really good corncakes

My grandmother used to make those. They are oh so very tasty.

edit:

I take that back. My grandmother's didn't have an egg in it. It was just milk and cornmeal. The batter was v. thick and not really pourable. She spooned it into hot oil and fried it.

Swouncing

Skippity and poking head to post that, according to the Buffista Calendar, today is Aimée and miracleman's anniversary.

Also, according to Robin "If the Apocalypse Comes, Beep Me" Aug 6, 2006 12:51:14 am PDT and counting on my fingers, isn't it also Robin and her DH's elopement anniversary? Or somewhere around now, anyway? Either way they deserve house congratulations, though, no?

So, lots of wishes for a great day and a wonderful year for all of them!

Happy Anniversaries!

It does have some texture (they're not at all fluffy like pancakes, much more solid), but that's the way we grew up liking it.
