You got all kinds of learnin' and you made me look the fool without tryin', and yet here I am with a gun to your head. That's 'cause I got people with me. People who trust each other, who do for each other, and ain't always lookin' for the advantage.

"This bar smells like kerosene and stripper tears."

Did the electric company read the meter this time, sumi (and have they been estimating in the past)?

Ugh, this happened to cousin K when she moved back to New Orleans. She had to pay goes to check email $1,100!

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

Woo hoo, Dana!

Ugh, sumi. Sucks.

But am I understanding that his now-ex is in her early 30s now and they've been together for 10 years and she was in a 10-year long abusive marriage before that??? Meaning since she was an early teen she's been married? WTF? Or did I read wrong?

I just went back, and the early-30s was when they got married.

"You can't put a price on the joy of not giving a shit." -Zenkitty

This morning my bus broke down on Lakeshore Drive. Another bus stopped eventually, but I still had a hike to my building. I rolled my ankle in the middle of an intersection. I actually have to do work all day today.

Oh, Wednesday. You've betrayed me so.

Remember that the frontier of the Rebellion is everywhere. And even the smallest act of insurrection pushes our lines forward.

Woo hoo!!!

Okay, I think if I'm very, very careful. . . I can pay that bill. It will be very close.

But the shock. I'm still not over it.

Our wings are not tired.

Happy Anniversary to Sheryl & DH.

Ouch! Brenda and Shrift please to be more careful.

Tom - Good to know that the boys won't hate me in later life for ruining them.

Our wings are not tired.

I looked at the past couple year's electric bills and they have been going down steadily. I don't know how much of this is my efforts to control it and how much was price controls put on the electric company. The last 12 months I avg $280 a month, far better than the $302 a month avg for the previous 12 months. I promise I don't heat with electric, but I don't have another A/C choice.

Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

You know how when you call someone and get the automated attendant, it might tell you to press the "pound" key? Well, my boss just had the automated thingie tell him to press the "number" key.

So is the pound sign ("#") something people are less familiar with these days?

Laura, here in IL they just released the restrictions on the electric bill (but are thinking of putting some back -- one of the reasons we have NO BUDGET here yet.)

I always knew that # as the number sign until the increase in automated systems where I've always heard it called the pound key.
